Hey guys, Just wanted to share a little story. My friends and I were heavy players in the late 90's. I bought a 98' Minicocker that took me all summer to pay off. I loved that gun and added the few upgrades I could for a poor teen at the time. A few years later (2001) when I was in highschool I wasn't playing much and in need of cash I sold it back to the shop owner I obtained it from. Never to see the gun again.
Fast forward to last week and my friend sent me a posting to a craigslist ad and low and behold my cocker was pictured with tons of other gear from none other than the guy I sold the cocker to 11 years before! He was selling off what hadn't been robbed from his shop, basically the stuff in the back that he still played with at the time, as he hadn't been in business for some time now. My buddy contacted him and bought the whole lot and he straight gave me my mini back! It looked fairly bad, old molding chopped balls, the bolt wouldn't budge. The last guy to use it obviously didn't clean it when they put it away so it sat for years like this in a barn.
The good news..Its a freaking cocker! The little beast cleaned right up and the bolt was scrubbed with a slightly abrasive scrub pad due to years of sitting covered in paint but it polished right up. I still have a lot to do and its still in pieces but I need a valve tool to tear it down and see what it looks like. I need a new IVG as the old brass one was striped by what looks like a bur in the thread where the beaver tail and IVG threads meet. I have some plans to continue with my KAPP parts but I want it to stay old school.
Thanks for reading guys and of course a few pics.
My 98 mini in pieces for now. I'll update the thread as I go.
