First Car Opinions

Hey guys time to get my first car. I have saved up around 6.5K from mowing and working. I have a couple cars I'm looking at right now.

Here's the list:
2004 Cadillac CTS 120,000 miles
2005 Nissan Altima 90,000 miles
2002 BMW 540i 120,000 miles
2003 Infiniti G35 127,000 miles
Also looking at mazda 6 and 3.

I what a nice car. Clean in and out. Doesn't have to be sporty but not hard on the eyes.

Lemme know what you think and if you have any other suggestions I'm all ears.

I'd probably buy a sticky. Definitely the first sticky I saw.

For $6500, you're just wasting your money on those. I would be skeptical as to if I was getting one of those cars in decent condition for $10k.

It appears you're looking for something sporty and/or luxury and not that old. But, you seem to not realize that cheaping out on those things often means giving up reliability. Yes, I'm partial to Honda/Acura. But yes, they'll last even with over 150k miles. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one with over 150k miles.

03-05 Civic Si
99-01 Integra GSR
02-06 RSX (type-s if you're lucky)
99-03 TL type-s

leave $500 in the budget for repairs.

Get a civic or something.

It does appear you're looking for sport a bit.

Civics and RSXs can be had cheap in your price range.
Mazda 3 is nice. Not sporty, but nice looking. And 5 speed in them isn't bad.
If you got a deal, I've seen 04+ Acura TLs go for around that price.
Honda Accord
Hyundai Tiburon
02-03 Subaru WRX
Scion tC

Just depends how much of a luxury you're looking for. If you can stretch a bit, the Acura TL is quite the car. Infinity G35 isn't terrible either, but the earlier years were hideous IMO.

Edit: Oh, can't believe I forgot.. 99-04 or so BMW 325/328 can be had in that range.

You paying the insurance or no?

Maybe an Integra if it doesn't look retarded and stolen more than 3.5 times.

I would go down a few notches in the "luxury" department and get something with less miles.

Buy the oldest high mileage audi you can. the older ones are more reliable, and they burn through miles like a diesel. No problems usually

my friend had a 1990 audi 90 with well over 200k on it, bought it for $700

that thing was a tank until he hit a foot deep pothole and destroyed the front suspension

Meh, i'm just saying a 6th Gen Accord would be a solid FIRST car for him. There is no reason to get a 150k mile CTS. Out of the cars he listed, the only one i'd consider is the Maxima.
