I want an Etek but is there anything else to consider?
I've always loved the planet eclipse markers and im trying to spend about $400 on a new gun. I know the Etek is a cannon and is loud as hell compared to lets say the Axe. So I started looking at Axes, 07-09 Egos, DM6-DM10, and others in comparison but I would like some knowledge on the subject. THANK YOU!

In my opinion, if you want to spend $400 on a PE poppet buy a used Etek3 or Ego 8.

You can get an Etek 3 LT for about $300 now if not less. Those are great for the price.

For not much more he could get an 09 Ego if he patrols the BSTs hard enough. That would be the way to go.
