Depending on which SL74. I have seen Infamous SL74s still holding a value of $1000. Personally if it were up to me (this isn't because I am an Ego/Etek owner) I would definitely go with the SL74. The reason I say this is just because the DM12 although it still may be new, it still has no barrel kit, LCD screen, and probably weighs more. Definitely stay away from the NT. No offense DYE fans. I have seen more problems to ever come out of Dye guns (NTs especially) than any Ego I have ever been around. Just about every person in my area that plays at my that has/had a Dye problem usually always got a Planet Eclipse gun afterwords. In one hand though the DM12 is a very nice new DM. But on the other hand what I have seen in people owning Dyes/Protos that have had problems I think all boiled down to lack of experience and know-how to maintain them. I have had a couple Ions and I'm guessing the amount of maintaince knowledge is similar. They are a bit** but you just have to really have a decent amount of mechanical/pneumatic/electrical know-how to be able to own and properly keep one of these markers. To tell you the truth I personally
would own a Dye gun (especially a Vampire IM9

). But in the overall scale of things I would go with the Ego, just work on that price if it isn't a more rare SL74. For $650 I know where you can get an SL94 full kit!
