paint and date questions...

I found our local Sports Authority carrying Xball-Podium and midnight. Either of these 2 types any good? Also the date on the shipping label to the Sports Authority warehouse was dated 8/15/12. Do these stores normally carry/sell paint that old? even if stored in a climate controlled warehouse is it still worth paying the 35$ for midnight and 45$ for podium being that old?

I'd go no more than 4 months on sports authority. I always get midnight. Accuracy isn't the best, but its as brittle as evil. Just roll around the boxes. Last time I got maxim the balls where like squares. I've been using midnight for 1 year now, never had a bag break or dimpled ball.

Xball podium is awesome paint. Hi visibility, brittle, good fill, and flys as strait as any thing out there. It has a great shelf life too. I've bought cases at sports authority that were over 6 months and shot great. They'll run it on sale for 30 sometimes which is great for the quality.

Midnight is good, but shelf life is lower from my experiences. 3 months is optimal, the closer to 6 the worse it gets.

Xball and midnight are the same thing, but a different name, color and fill. Just avoid maxim.

The X-ball Podium at my local S.A. was made last august. It's a tad bit old isn't it?

I had a case of Draxxus that was kept in my garage for over a year.

Went in backyard, threw a ball into the air, it broke on the ground. Repeat twice; they all broke.

Sample balls passed the "blow test" just fine in a 0.693. Definitely expanded a bit. I used a bag of this, however it was for a party and we were using T98 as rentals, but they shot, they worked, and they broke!

Save old paint.
