My Etha chops more than Bruce Lee
I have had the thing for a month now, got it brand new and all I did was install the springless poppet in it,
Have not been able to actually use it yet because every time I go to chrono I shoot a small stream and chop,
I clean it out go back and shoot a small stream and chop.
Have my z2 pushing paint so im not worried about misfeeding in particular, I have yet to touch anything else on the gun, it chronos around 270's
any clue what might be wrong or what I can do differently to might help me out a bit?
I do plan on getting the TechT bolt in the future.
does it have anything to do with bolt tips??

Did you try different paint? Is your barrel bore too small? Also if the paint isnt great and its cold out that may cause chopping too.

Same here! Everyone I've talked to about it says that they've never had the issue... and sometimes the rubber tip on the bolt pops halfway off in the middle of a game, it's odd.

i'd say try a different loader. out of the box my etha rarely chops paint with the stock bolt, and thats from 40c to -5c including 2 rainy days. only other thing would maybe be the soft rubber tip on the bolt could be on wrong.

I am waiting for jack to come along, and as far as the tip, threw a spare on from the bag and it still chopped. so I guess I'll just wait for some more insight from a pro lol

My guess would be you did something wrong or something got pinched or else when installing the new poppet if it started after that.
Did you take it appart and checked everything since?

never shot it before the poppet, and there isnt much to get messed up with putting in a new pop.

Have you checked the eyes? Are they clean? Plugs plugged in properly?
Have you tried a new fresh and quality battery?

Feed your balls in one by one, if it still breaks paint, i say turn up your dwell for now, if it dont, look in this site somewhere for how to change the settings on your blender ... i mean z2, it may be putting to much strain on your ball stack and making your gun chop.
Other tgsn that all i can say is take the bolt spring out and mske sure its not bent causing your tip to peel off the bolt and breaking your paint

If you dont clean out the gun after a barrel break, the paint will swell the bolt tip causing it to catch on the spring
Also some springs are actually wider on one side .. make sure you have the snug end on the bottom of the bolt

Make sure the bolt guide and the inside of the bolt itself are perfectly clean and free of grease/paint.
We had an Etha chew paint last week and it boiled down to some grease getting into the bolt/guide.

It came down to paint for me. When shooting polar ice at 45F, I was shooting a spray gun. I couldn't even get through a hopper on a pinokio on semi without paint pouring out if the barrel. I switches over to custom blend, and I had one barrel break in the entire case. Maybe try a lower end paint, they usually have thicker shells.

Gonna try this out today and see what happens,
As far as paint, I'm shooting custom blend and stuff with generally thick shells and nothing works out. Damn thing jut wants to chew up paint. But i had a little progress yesterday, she don't chop as much with a new bolt too on so progress is being made, gonna go grab some nice Walmart paint later and see of it chops that at all just for ****s and giggles! Lol

Are you sure it's chops and not barrel breaks? Have you tried different high quality paint? Low hopper settings?
I've shot a case through my Etha and haven't broken a single ball...shooting RPS Premium and GI paint.

Well, it looks like everyone here has covered o-rings, detents, battery, dwell, hopper tension, paint, and a clean bolt guide and bumper. If none of that works, have you tried a different barrel? Is it possible that there is a nick in the breech end of the barrel that's damaging the balls?

Agreed, also...what size control bore are you using with the freaK? Try stepping up a size.
