Final Cut is really a quick pickup program. Go for the Express version to save a lot of money and you will not miss out on a lot. Final Cut X is a lot more consumer based but most users of the older versions seem to be against it. Final Cut Express version 4.0.1 is all that you need.
In school they are teaching us Avid which seems to be a much more organized and professional styled program but it get a lot more expensive. The biggest problem with attaining it without basic training is that it is not the easiest thing to pick up and learn through Youtube tutorials.
tldr; Final Cut Express version 4.0.1 from $200-$300 is awesome!
pshh you prbly dont even no how to pronounce arri.
