custom build question

Hey guys i just wanted to know what type of metal is used in high end marker frames ...do i need to buy it in block form?..thanks in advance:-)

"Block form" is know as barstock or squarestock. You can get it from well-renowned companies for okay prices.

The classic is 6061 T6 Aluminum. you'll want flat stock or square stock

i would start with maybe 6x6x3/4 piece of plate and go to town. if you need any help with anything let me know.

after looking on mcmaster-carr, it would be cheaper to get 1" thick stock. this would aid with clean up and fixturing as well.

I'm guessing he'll be Dremmeling. Best case scenario, band saw, drill press, and Dremmel/files for the fine work.

I'm curious how this turns out. Some people are incredibly skilled with minor league tools.
