Most insurance providers blow. State Farm has been good to me.

If I ever had my car get work performed only to be told, "When you get home, fix this and that," I'd ****ing flip. That is absolutely ridiculous. Tell a local news station. They would eat that **** up.

If they're paying for it (well, you know what I mean), go to the most reputable shop around.

When I wrecked my Durango a couple years ago I had it repaired at a dealership's body shop, and besides the $3,500 price tag, the work was like new. They wanted to charge me $1,500 to respray my trunk lid and bumper cover on the S4, though

State Farm
Also, I agree on the last part. You could take over the business if you let the news know about it, lol

Why? Just look into the repair shops they offer before taking your car to them obviously... Some lady backed into my 6 a few months ago, she had State Farm, and one of the authorized repair facilities was the best Mazda dealership/repair place in town. My front bumper looks better than it did before the lady even backed into it.

That's what I'm thinking.
I found a set of STs BNIB f/s on AZ, guy's asking $670 shipped, PayPal gift (). Not sure if I want to spend the extra $200 or just get Racelands. I mean, my sole purpose for getting coilovers is for the adjustable ride height...

If you live in a cold weather climate think about potential rust issues before buying a cheap set. I have heard some of the cheaper brands can rust.

Looks like I'm going to be out 2200 if I want coils so I'll likely be holding off for a while.

Idk if I will even have any coils before winter. I was thinking I'd have to spend maybe 1600 but now its looking like more than 2000. We'll see.

I'll just get the wheels on and brakes done and see where I am money wise and see how the car looks, etc.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward the STs, but best case I get them for $600. I called around today to get some install estimates and the best price I got was ~$300 (~$70 for alignment). They go up to $600 for install alone, no alignment.

It's ****ed.

6 speed = 225 TT. Dual exhaust tips? Charge pipe run over passenger side of engine? Throttle body on Driver side of engine?

because the only reason they are taking it to that shop is because they do **** cheap for them, hence why they are a direct repair facility.

9/10 they wont fix it properly. and im not talking about paint, im talking about suspension components and frame damage.

Would a 98 A4 2.8 quattro be fun? I work in a garage and some woman having work done is selling hers. It's only got 59k on it and book value is only like 5k. Worth it?

Keep in mind i drive an 02 Split Port Focus. 110hp stock. Needless to say, its boring.

I had a 98 v6 5sp s-Line. I wouldn't call it fun to drive (slow, they have a lot of body roll, even with the s-line suspension), but they are really nice to drive. If you can afford the maintinence I'd go for it. Keep in mind the 70-80k service interval.

Working in a garage has it's benefits. Like getting all of the parts at commercial cost.

I would just like something nice. My focus is in great condition but it's boring. Should have mentioned its a sedan. So on the same hand if i won't really be gaining much, performance wise, I don't see the need to swap cars for minimal gain.

Only problem is that the focus is ugly as sin, and putting any kind of visual "upgrades" on it would make me look that much douchier. The A4 i could at least drop some money on it once in a while and not feel like it was a complete waste of time.

A4 is probably nicer than the focus, but if you're after a sports car, save your money and look elsewhere.

59k is enough to make it worth it.
The 2.8s are pretty peppy, nothing to brag about. They sound pretty good too.

What about a MKIV Jetta with a VR6?

I don't NEED a sports car, but it'd be nice. A friend of mine just picked up an 07 Mazda 6 for cheap and that extra pep it has over my car is real nice. I don't need anything out of this world, but being able to pass someone and NOT think "I'm not gonna make it." Would be nice.

And even though it's the same company, something about VW's has always come off as toy like to me. I've never gotten the chance to drive one though.
