Ego8 too loud!

As the tittle says my ego8 is way too loud, it has the stock cute bolt. What can I do to make it quiet besides the cure 3+ bolt heard it doesn't make a difference

Is it possible that you have one of the early production ego8's with the bad reg? Those were super loud. Ego's in general have a much more distinct sound signature than most spoolies on the market. Might take a little to get used to coming from one. Personally, I don't find them to be overly loud at all.

I know that. People that generally complain about the Ego's sound signature typically are converting from spool valve markers.

Haha yes I switch from spool to poppit. Compared to other egos mine is loud, idk if it's the early production one. But if any bolt makes a bit quiet that would be nice. I don't mind it being loud. I love my ego

Not sure how to check, but the early production Ego8s had some sort of issue with the regulator. I shot one for a tournament, and besides some constancy issues, that was one of the loudest damn markers I've ever shot.

You think the serial number engraved inside the trigger Frame would be able to determine early production ego's from late production?

I have a Ego 05 and that is much louder than my Autococker which is also a poppet base system. I wonder why.

No idea but I bet one of the tech's could tell you. I know most had the issue resolved right away as PE did it for free. You could just have a loud gun...

Try a proper paint to bore match and DYE UL you will wonder why anyone spends $1500+ for a CSL.

This is how to tell if the Ego is one of the ones with the defect.

27th November 2007 - Official Planet Eclipse Press Release.

This press release applies to all Ego8 that were manufactured prior to 9th November 2007.

As a result of our continuous testing, we have recently discovered an Ego8 Inline Regulator Swivel Collar that displayed a defect that resulted in a leak that could only be stopped by replacing the swivel collar component.

Upon examining the faulty component, and with subsequent investigation, we have determined that there is a potential fault in a batch of material used to manufacture a number of Ego 8 Inline Regulator Swivel Collars. As such these components will need to be replaced as soon as possible.

Swivel Collars with a potential fault are easily identifiable by the "ECLIPSE" engraving on the component, in particular the spacing between the "C" and the "L" (see bottom image) and the spacing between the "S" and the final "E" (see top image).

- If the letters touch then the component is acceptable and does not need replacement.
- If there is a noticeable gap between the letters, as highlighted in the two attached pictures, then the component will need to be replaced as soon as possible to ensure the highest possible performance of your Ego8 marker.

Please refer to the attached images to determine if your Ego 8 Inline Regulator Swivel Collar is potentially faulty and if so please obtain a replacement

Is the dwell too high? I switched boards on mine and the dwell was set too high. I lowered it and the loudness went away. I had to adjust the regualtor and it was good to go!

Try a smaller bore barrel and a Hush bolt. Otherwise you can't do much.

Yeah I'm ordering a furious barrel soon.

I'll look into the bolts though
