Proper Way to Use the Pressure Tester - G6R
I've been unsing a G6R for the last year or so, and just realized when setting up some new gauges that I'm really just guessing how to use this thing.
I set my HP/LP to factory, and tweak and adjust from there, Im currently sitting at about 60/160 shooting low 280s consistently on the chrono.
When I pull the trigger the LPR jumps to about 65 and then slowly settles back down to 60. The HPS is dead nuts on 160 and snaps right back to place.
Is this normal? Will this mean I get FSDO or will my velocity increase in a string of shots?

I shot a string across the chrony when I first set it, everything seemed fine, but I dont know that I rapid fired like I would in a game - it's an old style Big Red Chrony, so it doesnt do BPS, just FPS

Guess we will find out in a 45 days when the field opens....

I would clean your LPR it shouldn't be that slow to return.
If it works it works but since you have plenty of time before your field opens you might as well get everything in tip top shape. If your LPR is already cleaned and lubed then it could just be a bad gauge on the tester or something.

shoot it on rampiing at a target 20 yards away. aim at the same spot the entire time and shoot a pod full of paint on ramping....do the balls fall short at any point? if they dont then you have no drop off...

Good call, i couldnt detect any discernable drop off in full auto - the LPR takes less than a second to return, but its slow enough you can actually see it - I will break the LPR down and clean it out if you guys dont see this when you set your reg.

Don't fix what ain't broken.
If it's not dropping off, and your getting decent consistency.. then Why change it?

it could be an issue with your tester. my lpr gauge on my tester actually drops in pressure while i wait a few seconds in between shots. but when i take my gun over the chrono im +- 3 fps all day. im pretty sure there is nothing wrong with my lpr but i could be wrong.

try pulling out the set screw on either side, clean it up and apply a coat of blue locktight. Let that sit for an hour or so and try again, fixed my tester when it was actin funny

It may be a gauge issue. The stock pressure tester gauges leave a lot to be desired. I've upgraded mine to Ashcrofts.

I'm running some nicer gauges on my tester, I learned a long time ago those mini gauges suck for any form of real accuracy +/- 10% on a small face over 300psi is a large deviation.
Sounds liek the other posters reg does the same thing mine is doing - I will just let it ride for now, and if I see any issues at season start I'll look to clena and lube the LPR again and maybe break down the tester.
Thanks everyone
