Pooty ?
I just snagged a Nxt and was wondering what are the benefits of running the pooty bolt would be over the he setup in the gun? All I've ever ran is the he bolt setup. I do like the pooty the best out of the others I've seen.
Any help would be great!

Pooty bolt is polished and annodized. It comes bored out for a spring. Has a flat face to help prevent roll back.

Pooty's bolt isn't very efficient on low pressure. You'd get similar results from spring modding your stock bolt and ordering a rhino spring.
The spring mod helps to lower dwell, which boosts efficiency. And reduces fsdo

The current "high efficiency" spring modded bolts are the Eigen and ATlas(not released).
There are some others made by NDZ(similar to the Pooty) and the NOX bolt which are hard to find and not bored for springs.
People are getting very good results out of their Eigen bolts.
ATlas says his bolt also pushes good numbers.
With a spring modded NOX bolt I was able to run a 7ms dwell with no kick. Was very nice.

The Eigenbolt is where it's at. R&D for 6 years, limited run (I think he said he had a dozen left or something, this was a few weeks ago, too), only magnesium bolt (lightest metal bolt ever), etc. etc. etc.

I don't really need good Efficiency just smooth and quiet..... But efficiency wouldn't hurt.
Does the bolt being pushed forward hurt the detents?
So what kind of dwell would I expect out of the pooty or the techt ?

with the spring the bolt is constantly forward when there is no air in the gun. the detents will be depressed and won't be damaged by the bolt being forward.
dwell depends on what you're trying to achieve with your shocker. no kick or high efficiency.
dwell will end up ranging from 6-14 depending on how you set it up.

Man...... I like what I see of the techt bolt system...z run a dwell of 12ms and a operating pressure of 160ish. That's nice! Should be soft shooting

With an Eigen and LP-modded non-HE can and LP-modded guide, ccluff was running a dwell of 9ms and pressure of 120psi.

With my pooty bolt I was running 8ms and 140 psi, there is more to it than just having a lp can and guide.

Qev (stock on eigen, pooty, speed bolt), IPR, noid vent, high flow and oring tolerances also play a part in allowing a shocker to operate effectively at such low numbers.

Sounds like things get complicated quickly..... I just wanna keep it simple..... When I was running shockers many years ago we never had these springs and stuff.... Just ran the He setup from Smart Parts and a virtue board and my shockers worked great. I do like the spring assist though!
