Arb question

Does anyone remember how big the diameter of an arb can be before it starts choking off air flow?

I was using a piece from a 3/8 dowel rod then coating it with jb weld to try and seal it so moisture or paint couldn't get into the wood. I know I read somewhere a post by cluff or strangeballer a measurement of the maximum diameter possible and I was just curious how close the 3/8 was to it. Since I'm coating mine it actually adds to the diameter and I was wondering how much wiggle room I had?

Well if you go to home depot you can get nylon spacers in the hardware section in all different diameters.

I saw some spacers at the hardware stores but they were hollow, they didn't look long enough, and they didn't have a big variety of sizes. I knew strange or cluff had posted the size somewhere. Just couldn't remember where.Just found where strange posted .375" in one thread and .439" in another thread.
