Congrats on the pickup. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Spend a few minutes with the manual, it's relatively easy to follow thanks to the great pics.
Typically, there is more lube than usual coming from the factory. if it cycles without a problem, just play and use up a case before taking out stock lube and applying a thinner coat on the drive train.
Some have wiped off stock lube after receiving it and just put the appropriate amount on live.
Also the newer militia lube is awesome!

Macdev's quality control is excellent. You shouldn't have any problems out of the box if its brand new. Air up, shoot a tank thru it. As stated, if you have no hiccups then just shoot it. You might get fsdo but that'll pass the more you shoot.
If you do run into issues. There are plenty of awesome guys here that are willing to help out. Reach out to MarkS and if you have warranty issues go to aggressivesports.net

The factory Shift barrel is excellent, I would just get an insert kit for it as opposed to buying the iFit kit. Aggressive Sports sells accent kits ( www.aggressivesports.net).
Other than that just shoot it, there's nothing that needs to be upgraded.

Yes installing the accent kit is very easy. If you get one and have any questions about it just post up or PM me.

What is it you don't like about the stock triggers. It's much better than previous MD guns with little to no side to side play. Responsive as well but a magnet install will make it snappier.
I had the VP and it is a very good trigger. Still a preference thing because both triggers are good.... As opposed to stick trigger on the droid which is a recommended upgrade
Right now I like the critical trigger better as it is even snappier than the VP IMHO.

The lube that comes with a brand new MacDev is fine. But they sell a better "upgraded" lube that apparently performs better. (Militia Lube, am i right?)

I say yes, reason being is my cousin bought a Critical Trigger for his MacDev and the magnet heads did not line up properly. It's universal for MacDev Clone GT and other high end markers. So from this experience I'd go with Violent.

Check out the fitted oring kit from Aggressive Sports it's pretty sweet. I always wondered why my gun still wasn't getting amazing efficiency, the orings in this kit fit BETTER than broken in orings and last LONGER. The biggest change is the power tube orings. Do a before and after tightness test on those... huge difference.

Play as much as you can. Find someone to coach behind you after they are done. Practice against the best players you can. It sucks getting beat a lot but when you start shooting d3/2 players here and there d4/5 players become easy to shoot.
