G6R differences
Ok, new to the G6R scene, I've gotta VICE right now and I'm thinking about picking up a used G6R on here...It's a 2011 model, so what's the differences in the 2011, 2012 & 2013 G6R's besides cosmetic milling??

2012 has the cam drive and an OLED frenzy board while the 2011 has neither.
2013...I believe it comes with what the 2012 does as well as a KO trigger and the premium bolt. Not 100% on that one but I can guarantee the differences between 2012 and 2012

2012 G6Rs don't come with LP poppits stock, or at least mine didn't.

2012/2013 are the same. The only thing diffent between those would be the standard and premium editions(KO trigger/v2 pillow bolt with the new bolt pin) both of those upgrades can now be purchased if youd like to upgrade your 2011/2012 g6r.
But to answer the OP's question
2010/2011- LED board and twist knob asa
2012/2013- OLED board and cam drive asa
Bolts/trigger/LP poppets can all be purchased if you like to buy an older g6r and just upgrade it as you go

I do not believe the OLED Frenzy boards are produced by Tadao. I think they are made by someone else.
To the original poster, if you don't need the OLED, there is no real reason to go with the newer models in my opinion. Some people like the cam drive ASA more but I have never had much of a preference either way.

The OLED boards are not made by Tadao. You're correct.

An Oled board is nice to have but if the price is huge between the 2 I'll take a LED board and upgrade it later.

Well the only way currently to upgrade to the new OLED from the LED would be to buy a new frame altogether... which isn't bad since you would get the cam-drive ASA as well.

You can buy the with the LP poppit in it from the factory but it's not stock, you'd have to pay extra for it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking if I pick up a '11 G6R and decided to OLED it I'd just put a Virtue in and be done with it...Also I was looking at Tadao's site the other night and they are showing some OLED boards for G6R's, will those work in the 2011 model??? I've always had good luck with Tadao boards in the past.

Tadao doesn't make an OLED G6R board.
And the price difference between a used 2011 and used 2012 is probably less than the price of a 2011 and a Virtue board.

don't buy tadao...unless you like saving your receipts in order to get warranty work done...
buy virtue, way better customer service, no receipt required....with virtue board goes bad even if after you resell it they will fix or send you a new board within days.....will never buy anything again from tadao again after I got screwed out of $200 just because I lost a receipt....

Because Virtue's warranty totally protects your noid that they fried with their bad OLED board run right?
Supposedly they fixed that issue but you never know.
That and I remember them from 2004 or 2005 when they were banned from this website because employees were writing fake reviews slamming other board companies and promoting Virtue products. Funny how people have such short memories.

I don't want to hijack this thread so this is my last post on the subject. But I've been in paintball for quite a while...longer then most people that currently play have been alive. i remember the problems that virtue had, and their banning from PBN, you used to type "virtue" and it would **** it liek it was a swear word....the lawsuits etc etc etc...got it....whats has been done can not be undone....but....when I drop $200 for a brand new virtue OLED board, the screen dies on it, I call up and write emails to Will and I get ..."you need a receipt or there's nothing I can do for you"....that's complete bs.....
Then a month later I send an axe/mini virtue oled board in for a dead screen, no receipt, no proff of pruchase, no nothing, i'm not even the original owner, and I literally received a brand new (refurb I'm sure) board within 6 days of the original bad board leaving my hands....no questions asked.....now that is OUTSTANDING....
Don't get me wrong I think Tadao makes great products, its just their customer srevice that sucks. I still currently use a couple of their boards in guns that I play with however, I recevied all of those boards in guns and didn't, nor will I ever again purchase one single Tadao product from them, ever again...Virtue and Virtue only...period.

While I will agree that Virtue has great customer service, I simply can't recommend a Virtue board for the G6R specifically after the issues with them frying solenoids. The issue has probably been fixed, but that is a fairly high risk for the small gain you would get using an OLED on the gun. I am sure there are others who disagree, but this is at least my stance on them.
I personally run an Ebisu on mine and utilize the USB connectivity to adjust my parameters the day before at home and make small adjustments to dwell for tuning via light. The stock board on the 2011 is also excellent and with its current update it has practically everything a person could need aside from a screen, select fire and some fun modes (useless to most).
I also forgot to mention earlier that another difference is the tools required to perform LPR maintenance were changed after the 2011 model.
