best method for doing this? i see slight damage on the ribbon itself but hopefully it's just dirty. can i just take out the opposing detent and use a q-tip with alcohol? i know all about zdspb.com but i wanna get you guys' opinions on doing it best.
the ribbons are very durable as long as you're not yanking on it.
You can use the q-tip from the opposite side like you're talking about or just be gentle and unscrew the eye from the other side for a more thorough cleaning.
The reflective eye can see through a good amount of gunk.
i wouldnt use alcohol though, just out of fear that the alcohol may eat away at it or damage the eye circuit itself. idk if that would happen or not, just an uncertainty i have.
