Am I just being OCD?
So I recently purchased a pair of dye pants. Now I am planning on my next three purchases being elbow pads, pod pack, and a jersey. I could save a lot of money but not getting all dye products, but for some reason I feel like because I have dye pants, I should match them up with other dye products. Like it would look weird if I were to wear the dye pants, proto elbow pads, and an empire pack. So I was just wondering, do you guys care about things like this or do you just go with whatever?

I just go with whatever. Just because you think the pants are comfortable doesn't mean the pads will be.

I suppose some people might judge if you have mismatched gear. However, some people might also judge if you're wearing all the same brand. I wouldn't let people's judgements dictate what you spend your own money on. Get what you like and beat the heck out of it as soon as possible.

General rule: everything matching (colors, at least, you might be able to get away with brands) doesn't look very good and is a sign of just-bought-my-first-kit syndrome.

Really? I was thinking matching colors would look better than different colors on everything.

Go with whatever feels the best when you try it on, there's no such thing as loyalty to a multi-million dollar company. Don't buy based on brand.

I don't think it matters if you have matching gear or not. All my gear is a combo of brands and colors. What matters the most is whats comfortable and won't hinder your play. My suggestion is wear things that fit the best that are within your budget.

I like to match as well. Only I do it a little differently.
Pants: $25
Hoodie: $20
Long Sleeves: $13.25
Cleats: $9.87
I think my arm and knee pads are the same brand (smart parts)

Haha its not loyalty as much as just wanting it to match. I would be fine with all empire or all proto or all whatever. I only said dye because thats the type of pants I already have.

Don't worry about pads unless they are the same price. I like to keep my stuff the same too!
I just bought dye pants, then went out and got a dye pack, 6 dye shirts, and a dye hoodie. I like to keep it the same. I went to dye because I have a dm13 and rotor, with i3's and i4's.
Go proto. The $80 pack isn't worth it IMO.

****, wear what you want. I had a proto jersey, JT pants, empire harness. All different colors too. jersey was red, pants were grey, harness yellow. Vforce mask-white.
thing with paintball is you wear what you like and fits most comfortably

Get kneepads before elbow pads and don't buy PB specific ones because wrestling/volleyball pads work better for cheaper.
I buy whatever works I don't think any two pieces of my gear are made by the same company. Actually I think I have Empire arm pads and an Empire pack but other than that everything else is a different brand.

Usually when I see someone decked out in all matching gear, they are posers that just sit in the back and shoot 20 bps (this is the way it is at my field). I like mixing my gear usually. I have Valken pants, Empire jersey, JT mask, Invert knee pads, and Empire pod pack and arm pads.

heres a tip, get dye pack, they are the best on the market get dye knee pads, they cannot be beat. for arm pads get what ever feels good, to me dye are amazing. keep your dye pants if you like them, DO NOT GET THE JERSEY, wear a long sleve that issss black? idk what colour your pants are, but if you have bliue pants DO not get a blue long sleeve. and make it 2 x bigger than the shirts you wear every day. so if you wear a medium t shirt, get a an xl long sleve. feel me? if you decide to get the jersey which i DO NOT recommend, then do the same 2x bigger or 1x bigger. if you think matching looks good then get matching.. but it instantly will make you look brand new, to the sport. and you will probably feel different lol..
spend money on a good DYE pack, and good pads. those were the life savers for me.
paintball is about feeling good about what you have on and what you are wearing. if you want all dye gear then by all means get it. just be based about it.

Just match colors. brands dont really matter in my opinion. Im a huge dye fan. ONLY because i love their masks and guns. not an overwhelming fan of any of their other stuff though. i prefer different packs, jerseys, pads, and pants. If you just match all the colors, or sorta match all the colors, no one is going to say anything. and if they do they are just being douchbags.
get comfy stuff. play in pants and a beater if thats comfortable. thats what a few guys around here do when its warm, and people arent laughing at them. youll enjoy the game a whole lot more if your pads are not cutting your legs, and your beltline is comfortable, your pack is like a massage chair. That will make you play better then having matching brands for things you dont like

Bigger usually = more bounces. itll catch the material and the material will flex with the ball. causing a bounce. if it just hits your tight jersey itll still hit your body and increase the chance of a break
