Geo 3 vs. Ego 11
Which one should i save up for? I dont care about their cost difference but what is to compare about the two? What are the ups and downs of the two? Also, if there is a different gun in the price range, which one and why?

you should save-up for both of them; that will give you plenty of time to research the differences from the vast pool of information available...

Its basically the debate of Spool Vs. Poppit.
Ego - Poppit
Geo 3 - Spool
There are many differences and some similarities to both markers.
Ego-Pros
1. Air efficient
2. Easy Maintenance
3. Easily Tuning
4. Tunable solenoid
Ego-Cons
1. Loud
2. Little rougher shot than other markers
Geo-Pros
1. Smooth shot
2. Quieter
3. Easy Maintenance on the geo
4. Adjustable bolt speed (Geo3 only)
Geo-Cons (Not very many cons to the Geo)
1. Less efficient
In my mind go for the Geo 3 but that is my opinion, it is your best bet to go to your local proshop or get in contact with someone that has either one of the guns that you are looking at and see if you could shoot it with your gear to see if you like it then make your decision from there or go to your proshop and see how they feel in the hands since the ego and geo have significant differences in how they feel and how they point.
Hope this helps

Not a bad review at all.. Just hold them both and see what "fits" better for you.

Geo 3...but that's just my opinion. I LOVE my Ego 11...very smooth for a poppit, very nice feel in hand for a stacked tube, EXTREMELY nice features...but the Geo 3 edges it out for me because f how simple the design and maintenance are, it has all of the features of the Ego 11 (deftek feedneck, soft tipped cure style bolt, sl3 inline, the newly designed trigger frame and grips, fully adjustable trigger, shaft 4...), plus it's lighter and has that nice spooler single tube design.
But for me, the Geo 3 just fits the bill the best...the Ego 11 might do that for you...try them both, do some research, decide what works the best for your style of play.
Enjoy either one, they're AMAZING!

Its really simple, if you play speed ball, the geo is the way to go cause efficiency does not matter and it is much smoother. This might get some Ego players upset, but the Geo has leap frogged it. Now the Ego13 will change that, but for now. If you play rec or woods ball; then you have a tougher choice, cause the Ego is far superior on air but it is a lot loulder than the Geo. So it all depends how much you like to shoot, availability of air and how stealth and quiet you like to play. Comes down to your preferences and needs. I personally find both have little maintenance needed, reliable and consistant. If you can affort the 3 than you should just wait for the 13 cause it will cost about the same and that will be the best of both and a real choice.

Spoolie. I had a Geo 2 and the efficiency was an issue. With the Geo 3 I get 8 to 9 pods easy on 68/4500 fill. I don't hate poppets I have shoot the 11 and very smooth but my BL Vice and G6r were smoother!
IMO Geo 3

pick em both up, put a tank and hopper on em and see which one you like better. You seriously can't go wrong with either of em. The most important thing about a high end gun is how it feels to you. They both point VERY differently so just try em out.
I love the way the geo's shoot but I'll never step away from the feel of my egos. Love em.

The ego11 has adjustable air restricters for the bolt. The geo 3 is softer on paint and quieter. Also more smooth. The ego 11 shoots more crisp and is harder on paint. Both excellent

I have an Ego 11 and a Geo 3. I play woodsball and was concerned about the geo's efficency but I can get 4-5 pods and a hopper out of a 48/45 with a 3k fill. For me it has to be the Geo, its nice and quiet in the woods and the maintenance is no harder than the Ego.
They are both great guns but the Geo 3 imo excells the Ego 11.

3k fill on a 48/45 and you get 4-5 pods and hopper? That's the craziest efficiency on a Geo3 I've ever heard of.

Mine isn't stock, but it definitely doesn't have any where near the kick or noise that ignorant people report. The fact that I never do anything maintenance wise, and it gets great effeciency keeps it my go to marker.
I used to be a gun whore, before owning my ego11.

I will agree, the G6R is the quietest poppet I've ever shot.

He's asking for opinions, is that really a problem? Did you consider things like maybe he's never shot either marker or wants to do research from a community of experienced paintball players? You complained, ranted, then in the end gave advice to the question he asked.
Be constructive is all I'm saying.
To the OP, try your shop or local field to hold each marker and even play with it if you can. You're comparing two of the highest end markers Eclipse has to offer, both will shoot well. It will all come down to personal preference and what you look for out of a marker. I've owned an Ego11 and shot my friends Geo3. Loved both. Best of luck to you.
