Jacob Edwards leaves Tampa Bay Damage and joins Houston Heat
HOUSTON, TX – Thursday, May 30, 2013 – Houston Heat has signed Jacob Edwards to the team, expanding its Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) roster to 11 players.
The PSP’s move to allow up to 12 players on a roster enabled Heat to pick up Edwards who recently left Tampa Bay Damage in search of a team with the right chemistry for him along with the will and ability to win.
“It’s an honor to have a young player like Jacob, with his caliber of skill and level of determination for success, express an interest in joining our family,” said Randy “Sarge” Smith, owner of Houston Heat. “Jacob comes from a supportive family with a strong sense of togetherness, which is very much in line with our team’s philosophy of one team, one family, one point at a time.”
Edwards, who played pro with Tampa Bay Damage for 3.5 years will get a fresh start with Heat at the PSP Chicago Open on June 20th, just two weeks after his 18th birthday.
“I feel like I’m joining a new family and I’m getting into something good,” said Edwards. “It’s a chance to build a new career with a really good team that can and will win. I’m really excited for the new experiences ahead.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jacob and his family to Heat,” said Smith. “His talent and energy help build the depth of our roster and set us up for future success.”

Houston Heat has some incredible starters and this gives them some more depth. Jacob will have one heck of a fight to make it on to the starting 5. We wish him success. Maybe this and the close Millennium loss will be what Houston Heat needs to ramp it up this season and get back to their winning ways.

I was actually just thinking this. After complaining about not getting the starting time he thought he deserved, he think's he's going to get more on a super-stacked, deep team?
I could see him replacing someone who goes every-other point on the D-side, but even then he is competing with the Russains.

I know how y'all feel. I'm an Infamous fan and they haven't won yet this season, but when Mayo joined up, I wasn't gwan like "all other teams are DEAD!!!"
