LCD ram coming apart?
Alright so i thought i pulled what was a "known good" ram out on my LCD, and the top casing piece (against the bumper) is separating from the next piece is the shaft.
THe space is about 1/8inch. I can post a pic tonight.
Is this repairable? Can i rebuild my ram? or is it shot.
thanks
jeff

If its the cap on the front end of the ram, it should just screw back on. Normally they are next to impossible to unscrew. Take advantage of the situation and open the whole thing up, clean, lube, and reinstall. It'll cycle noticeably smoother. Few people do it.

and finally, this ir3 one fell apart, any way to salvage/reassemble?

I've been trying to figure this one out for a couple of months to make rebuildable and unfortunatly have hit a brick wall. Basicly it's toast.

As long as that end cap is tightened on, it should be fine.
2nd
Take that cap off and clean the inside. Probably years of buildup.
3rd
Crazy

FWIW, I concur with all of the above. LCD rams should be salvageable, and a cleaning would do them good. IR3 ram is probably toast.

ir3 ram is scrap parts now
lcds are 1 for two. The reason the second one isnt going in all the way is because someone marred the shaft up internally. Its bad.
First one was salvaged.

The torn up shaft might be salvageable too if you can get a lathe on it. Even some sanding and a trip on the polishing wheel may work.
