OS X program to help me make exact lines/curves to specific measurements?

I'm trying to find a program or app that I could use on my MBP to help me create perfect lines and curves to exact measurements that I have pre-established.

Hopefully something where I can make it all at once and print it in several segments so that I can just glue them together... being that the piece is 41" long.

Something kind of like how Microsoft Word will let you make lines to a certain measurement... but I need it to be all on the screen at once and more user friendly.

does Photoshop do this? or any other better recommendations?
Thanks!

After some testing with the Adobe products. I found that Illustrator has been doing pretty much exactly what I need
