Learning CCNA right now. I am not sure why so many people say subnetting is so hard? It is quite easy actually.

Subnetting is easy, just gotta remember a few numbers.

The one thing I have trouble with is IPv6 and the different protocols that allow IPv6 traffic to traverse through IPv4.

Yes you do toolbandfan! Welcome

I switched over to server 2008 for my Domain controller and my network over to net10 today and had to put new static IP's on all my computers.

I haven't gotten into IPv6 luckily. Hooray Hexadecimal.

I notice most techs have difficulties because of the "if you don't use it, you lose it" principle... Like all Cisco material.. Don't get me wrong--the CCNA is great general knowledge and I recommend every tech go through it since most topics cover all standards (like subnetting). Any cert after that, however, is kind of a waste now I feel (Unless you're already a Cisco tech and your company is paying/requiring you to take them.)

I forgot all of my CCNA training over the summer after I finished the classes, it's awful how fast you forget things. Some things luckily stick with you from the class, which is great, but Ithere has to be a better way than the Cisco curriculum.

I can haz yes? Thanx!

Actually I've been interested in CCNA for a while, but like many things I want to learn, havent had time to devote to it. My network is rather a hodge podge of equipment atm, but it works well and serves my needs.

now where did i put that cross over cable....
