After your commute is X miles each day or x hours ?


My commute is like 32 miles each way to work . I get about 20-23 mpgs in my wrx.

Decided if it would be worth it to get a 4 grand or under civic elantra corolla Malibu or focus ?

Also having an automatic for when I **** myself and don't go in at 7 or 10am and sit in an hour of traffic .

your car doesnt get bad enough gas mileage and its awd so i would say its not worth it

That's what I figured , I figured modify this one / run it into the ground then buy a new sti or evo 10 once it dies . Thanks

The only thing that ****s me is my desire to have a vehicle with a trailer hitch for a jet ski . Would like to switch it up and do it in fresh water some times

You have an AWD four door car that get's fair gas mileage. You don't sound like you need one.

If you've thrown in a ridiculously heavy clutch, lightweight flywheel, solid motor mounts, removed AC/radio/interior, etc... I could understand.

You're in luck. I recently worked out a spreadsheet for the same question. It was originally for a bike but it's the same concept. Keep in mind that this does not account for maintenance or insurance. Let me know if you want the original spreadsheet to play with. Cheers

TL;DR - Not gonna pay for itself in the next 5 years unless you find a prius for $4k.

The problem is the trailer hit . I can't find a solution that doesn't involve a lot of custom
Fabrication and welding due to the exhaust mounts getting In the way with the forestor / impreza trailer hit .


Don't you have a Wrx or sti ? Do you know of an easy way ?

My Saabaru came with a receiver hitch rated for plenty enough for a small trailer with a motorcycle/fourwheeler/jet ski.

Is yours a hatch? If so, I'd sell you my hitch. I don't think it fits straight onto the sedans.

I'd get one if my mileage sucked, my car sucked in the winter, my car was too small or impractical to drive daily, or my car was nice and I didn't want to rack up the miles on it just driving back and forth to work.

Pretty much. I wouldn't want to drive a nice car in winter because of the salt
