Invert Mini vs. Empire Axe
This has been debated... and debated... and debated... I want a final answer
Invert Mini
Pros
-Price - Brand new 350$
-Upgrades available - Boards, grips, eyes, boards, detents, feednecks, bolt, color kits... need I go on?
-V1's came with the case.
Cons
-No On/Off ASA.
-Needs the allen keys to get to the bolt/internals.
-Small trigger frame means big-handed players cannot use this gun. (now fixable w/ a Nummech Foregrip Extender)
Empire Axe
Pros
-Comes with an On/Off ASA.
-Tool-less bolt access.
-Bigger trigger frame means big-handed players can use this gun.
-Microswitch Stock
-More Adjustable stock trigger.
Cons
-Price - 459$
-No case.
-Not as many upgrades as the Mini.
Post up and go crazy guys. I'll update this one with more points as they come up.

empire axe has a microswitch stock. Also has a more adjustable stock trigger than the stock mini trigger.

get the axe.
If u bought the mini and addded an on/off and trigger, it would cost you more in the end and you still dont get the microswitch board, tooless bolt removal, and signifantly improved ergonomics.
An upgraded Dodge Neon SRT is not the same as a Dodge Viper

you will end up spending so much money in upgrades for the mini, it will cost more than the axe and there are not very many colors for the axe, idk what ur talking about

I don't think you can list "not as many upgrades" as a con for the Axe - there aren't as many because all of the upgrades you need for the Mini come as standard with the Axe.
I can't see any reason to get a Mini with the Axe out now.

Invert Mini
Ok guys,
I've been playing paintball for over 10 years! I have played numerous tournaments including world cup x2 2009 and 2011. I have the choice of using egos, dms, droids, thresholds, vikings and my mini.
Guess which marker I used in both world cups?
My stock invert mini with an upgraded barrel!!!
The question is...do you really need the upgrades to destroy people and make them quit??

Seems like all you care about is the mini. So why not go for it.

I've owned a Mini for a year and a half now... much earlier than when I started this thread. This was meant as a reference thread for other buyers because there have been countless threads in the Empire Mini forum arguing over this.

The difference between and mini and an axe is just like the difference from all the other markers. There's no point in beating the dead horse. Why buy a csl when an ego 11 performs that same? It's all personal preference.

axe is a large mini. which means its smoother, its more reliable too, and i think fully up'd, the axe will be much better then the mini. the axe is well worth the extra 100 some bucks if you have it.
but gen 3+ mini are really reliable, but if you play really aggressive speedball you may have like 1 or 2 small problems day

I too would go for the Axe. Although I will admit I have never owned either. The Axe is a popular gun at my field. We demo them along with a few other guns. The feedback is positive. Players that have upgraded from the Mini to the Axe prefer the Axe. One of the refs playing with it said he prefered it to his EGO. I don't don't know about you, but it's also too small for me.

Yeah, I guess you're (don't judge me ) right on some of those. However, there are new upgrades from Nummech that push the foregrip forward about 1 inch and it completely changes the feel of the gun. I have big hands and my Mini felt a little small, but now it's perfect.
