New to tournaments

I am just starting to get into tournament play. I was looking at buying new stuff and thought it was best to decide on a gun. Should I go with a used Smart parts ion at about 150 now or should I wait and get a more expensive gun. If so do you have any suggestions?

In my opinion, I would go with something other than an Ion. I would recommend an etha for a start. Eclipse guns are always reliable and the etha is no exception. Also, I recommend on buying used on the nation as it will save you a little extra money.

Nothing wrong with playing with rentals for a while if you can stand it. If you do get a marker, get a workhorse to learn with. There are many markers from the 2005 to 2008 years that would be close to your price range and give you that type of platform.

In no particular order:
Shocker
Matrix (Dye or Proto)
Ego

All of these are relatively easy to maintain and learn with. They all still have support as well, whether it be aftermarket part manufacturers or here on PBN.

Thanks for the help guys! I agree I thought 150 is slightly high but I would be helping a guy from my school out. I think I am going to save up and shop around for a decent older gun to start out with!
