Question Which gun should I upgrade to?

Ok so I currently have a 2012 Proto Reflex Rail and I love it, but I want to start thinking about what gun I want to upgrade to before too long. I really like the spool valve, but I would not mind having a poppit, as long as it's smooth. My budget is around $1000 and if you suggest a gun, please provide evidence such as pros and cons and why this gun is better than others. Also, what makes higher end guns worth $500 more than mid-range guns? Thanks for help!

Also in general, is it better to have a newer lower end gun or an older higher end gun?

A thousand dollar poppet would have to be the g6r
The best gun for that price would have to most likely be a demon though

If you really like your proto pick up a dm12. Its basically the same thing as the dm12, and when you shoot it ull find how much better the DM feels and shoots. And personally I'd pick a little older high end over a mid end. IMO high ends perform better even if there older. And if your looking at popits a lot of parts on the egos are interchangeable.

For poppit, G6R. For spool, Clone GT

Yeah I was doing some research and the Clone seems to be what I'm looking for. The only thing is, I'm not sure what the difference is between the GT and the VX. I know on has an internal hose, but is that the only difference? Also, is it worth it to have an internal hose? I heard maintenance on it is really heard when it's internal.

if u want a clone and ur on a budget get a VX and u wont be disappointed. if u got the extra money get a GT it will be better as well as hold value longer.

Well, what don't you like about your current Reflex? What do you think you'll gain in an upgrade? What do you think the Reflex doesn't do that holds you back? I like owning lots of markers, but I don't do it because one is necessarily and upgrade to the previous markers, more for variety. If you're simply looking for on field performance upgrade I think you'll be disappointed with the money spent on a new $1000+ marker compared to what you have. You may also be able to spend $100-$200 on specific parts and get the current marker to a functional point that meets all your wants.
