I am looking for a new high end mechanical marker that runs well off co2 and can be eventually switched to hpa. Any ideas? Looking to spend less then 400, and want it fast and acurate.

I am not aware of any high end mechanical markers. High end markers are usually electronic and use solenoids so you shouldn't use co2 with them really. I guess if you really needed to you can use CO2 on an electro if you make sure you have an anti-siphon tank and use proper precautions to not let any liquid into the gun. You can get a used decent electronic gun and hpa tank for $400 pretty easily however.

High end mechanical... Almost an oxymoron. Best bet I would say is the tippmann x7. Not necessarily high end but it's the higher end of mechanical. The tippmann crossover or x7 phenom might work with CO2 and operate as mechanical. Need to check the CO2 part though cuz I'm not %100, maybe about %88. Otherwise, if you want that performance with CO2, you might have to look into marker that came out before HPA became king, something like a 2002ish impulse or something. Although they still don't run great on CO2 either, they just can.

Most guns that run on CO2 and HPA stay towards the lower end because usually its beginners who have not yet invested in HPA. You'll be limited to mostly spider, tippmann, and BT guns with CO2.

Yea look into an x7 or some autocockers. They can run off co2 now and when you're ready just switch over to hpa.
