So... pictures of guns in school are on par with soft core porn, comics, pictures of violence etc...

Sounds about right. Nobody cares.

Edit: Sorry, I was wrong. People who have been hyper-sensitized to any kind of reaction against even representations of guns by right wing media care. Rational people don't.

But left wing media are the ones going nuts over anything that can possibly kill people.

Or did I read your post wrong?

Kind of late to the party. People have been saying this for weeks/months/years

Apparently the school adminstrators do. They've now suspended a kid for bringing a lego gun to school, a paper gun to school, and a kid playing by himself, pretending to throw a grenade in to a box.

It works best to indoctrinate them early. If you start too late, sometimes the indoctrination doesn't take.

And...?

I'm having trouble understanding what the problem is here. Kids are suspended for what is considered to be bad behavior; subjective to the individual suggesting the suspension. This doesn't harm anyone. The kid will learn his/her lesson and not do it again. What harm is this causing?

Home school is known for not preparing student for the social world they must eventually join. I can't imagine a worse thing to do for a child.

Socially inept or socially adapted yet neurotic..... hmmm.

There's definitely a middle road between extremes. Now if only I could find neighbors who's kids want to play outside.

All of them? Of course not. Existentially, sure.

IMO, the psychological problems that come from not being in our society (or even being capable of being in it) outweigh that which comes from it.
