Ninja reg shooting out air need help

So I just got this ninja 45/45 in the mail a couple of days ago and I took it today to get it filled up. When the guy tried to fill it, it started shooting air out of the crease between the bottom half and the top half of the reg (the crease right above the fill nipple, burst discs and gauge). My other two tanks filled fine so I know it wasn't the fill station or anything.

What could be the problem, what can I do and how much would this cost to fix?

Thank you for the help!

Good luck, I actually returned the reg and tank to the original owner and bought a brand new ninja dura tank.

The only thing that would cause our regulator to leak in that area is if the orings on the piston are not sealing up.

The main cause of this issue is people not doing any maintenance on their regulator. Every 6months to 1 year, you need to degas the bottle, remove the bonnet, pull out all of the internal parts, wipe them down (you will be surprised how much dirt comes off), inspect the orings, replace them or relube them as necessary (only use a silicone based grease), put it back together and that should take care of the problem

If it is a new tank the o-rings in the reg would have to be the problem, do what Rob said exactly. The o-rings could have been affected by weather/transportation. Its unfortunate you are experiencing this with such a great companies product. Hope you get this fixed!

Very easy fix. Sounds like both of the people that posted above have either purchased a used system or their systems may be a bit old so the regulator probably just needs some maintenance.

What people dont realize is, just like the orings on your marker's bolt, the orings on the inside of your hpa regulator need to also be cleaned and lubed to work and seal up properly. Its just that the orings inside of the regulator only need to be cleaned and relubed about once or twice a year versus your markers bolt which may require a relube every or every other time you play

If you guys need help on how to do general maintenance, this video will take you through the entire process of taking the regulator apart, what to look for, how to relube, and how to reassemble the regulator.

Ugh, chances are you dont need a rebuild kit. no joke, if our regulator experiences a leak, a good cleaning and relube will usually take care of the issue.

If anyone has an issue with a Ninja regulator, please make sure to give us a call if you're not sure what to do. We may be able to save you some money while also instructing you on how to properly tech and do the work right over the phone or on Skype. Actually, if you want to see if we can resolve the issue before your items ship, call me right away and i'll see if I can help 877-646-5287

If you're not sure where a leak is coming from, put air in the bottle if it will hold it, submerge the regulator under water and call us up and let us know exactly where the bubbles are coming from. If we know where the leak is coming from, we can tell you exactly what to do to fix it. Even if you've never worked on a regulator, ours are so simple that we can teach just about anyone how to properly work on our regulators.
