i've been working hard on the whole pre-order to payment system today. Just sent Josh a video of the whole thing in action from pre-order to completion - just waiting for the nod, then I need to skin the system, do all the work such as addresses, t&c, set up payment providers etc

The simplicity of the layout of the Legend is a good compliment - that was a very smart gun, short of the thin bolt pin slot on the hammer. I am a fan. Looking the same as the Torque... not so much.

That would be a great gun to bring back to the market - a decent FASOR could still be everything most people need, and the simplicity doesn't hurt either. In some ways there is a connection. But the externals are quite a bit different.

If anything, I saw an older ego which has some very similar cuts to (edit) the Torque. I suspect out of any guns, I think it was an (uses google) Ego 09 that was very close in looks, or SL94. If anything, the bodies are close if you understand the CAD. Add a SL8R trigger frame, drop the LPR, and make the foregrip all nice and LV1 but smooth and not rubber and there you have something kinda close.

I see we CADDed using some of the same types of lofts they did on the Ego 9/SL94, but everybody has said Creed (done in surfaces) or the Legend (really not that similar in looks, lofts not used in the CAD I think, but no LPR, so hey) - Nobody mentioned the Ego 9/SL94. When I saw them recently I saw our CAD layout looks very similar.

The only guns close in my opinion.

Lets see what they look like:

Here is a legend. Notice the body is almost an extruded body, with two sweeping cuts, a cut out and then a rounding of the end? That could be done straight in MasterCAM. Nice and simple.

On the other end of things, the Creed - a fantastic chunk of CAD:

Which has contiuing line the move up, with some lifts around the eyes. There is some similar feel to it, but really the angles are quite different.

Shoot, somebody said even like an Alien gun:

Which I can kinda see - though the surface design is a bit more...subtle. The profile is the most similar to ours. But the front grip of ours, being smooth and clean only is really seen on a couple guns.

Where as the Ego 9/SL94 are here:

Are quite a bit like:

By total accident, you should have seen the externals before... So while I can see some of the comments and such, I would put the Ego's far closer then the Legend, or maybe a mashup or creed and ego, though I think we might be a disservice to both if we say that! Ha!

Oh - snap. Got me. I didn't even realize that. Truth be told, I couldn't even tell you what an Ego9 looked like back till after we did the CAD externals.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
