You air up your marker, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed that test, that your girlfriend broke up with you, or that you got a ticket on the way there... your world is right for the next couple hours,... this is your heaven on earth.. live it.. love it.. play it.. Paintball.

Your safest bet would be to contact the rail company to be sure. They'll be able to give you any relevant information about packing up all your paintball gear as well. They may have rules about airguns and such.

I called and they said non of it is allowed.... So since its a train and not an airport im thinking they dont search your things so if i empty the tanks and take the gun apart and bury all of it in with my clothes that should work fine right?

If all fails you could always just package your tanks and mail them to someone to hold it for you like USPS or UPS Store.

This is probably not a good idea.
If you've been told that they do not allow your equipment on the train it's best that you heed that and ship it separately.

But if the tanks are empty and hidden whats the problem? All of my stuff will be in storage and trains dont search your stuff seems like i could save some extra and un needed costs

The problem would be that they don't allow those items on the train. If you take them with you, you run the risk of losing your transportation, having gear confiscated, legal troubles, and so on.

Would you rather pay $20 to ship the stuff or risk it and be out several hundred dollars and possible legal issues if they catch you on the train?

Depending on how you worded, they may think your transporting stuff that you shouldn't be. Saying paintball "gun" when its a marker makes a big difference. Saying you have a paintball "tank" instead of a air cylinder would also make a difference. Got to remember these people don't know the slang we use for the sport.

What he just said.. .it's all in the wording.
Hell I recently went and got a flate rate box and got a quote for shipping. When the lady asked what it was I'd be shipping when I guessed it at 6lbs for everything I made the mistake of saying paintball "gun" her whole demeanor changed, she even told me that I might want to just click and ship or whatever it is to avoid bringing it into the office. The issue was I promised it overnight shipped and it had to be picked up by 12pm for that. Our mail comes at 345pm usually. I took it back in, same woman, asked me if I got my item shipped I said not yet I'm just shipping this marker for paintball. Didnt even question me.

Just remember when you ship, send it ground only.
