Naaaa. The spring in there is just to keep the compression on the entire engine using the stock (or TechT) backcap to ensure the whole thing stays together and straight. Doesn't aid in any kind of return or anything like that. It just helps push the bolt stop up against the step in the marker body via compression supplied by the backcap installation, so that it doesn't move during cycling.
I haven't had freaks (barrels that is
)of any kind either. I like my long control bores too much.
