Well, technically speaking, modded means they altered the gear from the factory format. In most leagues, it is illegal to mod any parts of the gear from the factory standard. Usually, the correct term for taking the stock parts out of a gun and putting different ones in is called upgrading or upping the gun. Whoever said a paintball gun was modded either means it was upgraded or something illegal done to it, but most likely the first option.

Normally the mods are good. They can be illegal but that's only for official tournaments. If you play local you should be good.

what could the mod be could it affect the performance like if something was to break would it be a paint to fix?

its kind of a slang term, it could just be an aftermarket upgrade part or genuine custom work, like custom milling to make it lighter, or modifying a frame from one gun to fit another one...depending on how complex a mod is, it could be very expensive or time consuming to replace, or just a matter of swapping in a replacement part.

absolutely correct. Just be carefully some people use those terms improperly. Such as calling a gun with an after market reg a modified gun when it is actually an "upgrade". I conceder a modified gun something that has 1 off parts or custom work done to it.

It could mean either. Ask the seller what the mods are.

Mods are not always illegal a wiodsbal marker modded means that it could be set up to resemble a real marker or wheae the parts were tweaked in irder to fit the marker. Modding does not mean illegal !
