Paintball pants that wont break the bank?

Hey guys so I need to pick up some paintball pants. I want some that are relatively cheap. Eventually I would like to get some nice more expensive ones but for now I just dont have the money. I saw the Valken ones on ansgear that are $40. I was wondering if there were any other pants that I should also check out? I would like something with some knee pads which the Valkens appear to not have.

Also until I can get some paintball pants, I have the choice of playing in jeans or baseball pants. Which would be better?

I heard the valken ones are pretty cheaply made. Check out empire pants, They run 80-100 and offer good protection and maneuverability.

Rap4 makes a BDU style pant with pockets for knee pads. I've never used them, but I've read a couple fairly comprehensive reviews, and word is they hold up pretty well. They're cheap, too, well within your price range. Just throw some cheap foam knee pads in the pockets (one guy even cut up an old mouse pad) and you're set.

Ok thanks I will check those out! Are there any others you would also recommend looking into? I really prefer the look of paintball pants compared to those with camo to be honest.

No pants knee pads will be as good as padded knee pads.

Ok guys I think that I am going to pick up the Empire Prevail pants. (http://www.ansgear.com/Empire_2012_P...pantsblack.htm)

If I wear a 32x32 in jeans what size would you recommend I get? I know that there is a sizing chart but from someone that has actually used these before, what would you recommend? thanks!

I wore a pair of those valken fate pants all last season because in the heat they are more comfortable then my empires. They held up just fine and still look relatively new and I'm pretty hard on my pants. I would say they are the best deal. I just ordered my wife a pair for this season.

I'm also a 32x32 and I wear medium empire ltds, I would think the sizes run the same. Compared on ans and they look the same, you could probably go with a small too, but I trend to err on the baggy side after getting a pair that were my waist and inseam size, and fit like skinny jeans...

I owned the valken fates for a year and truthfully they are really cheaply made padding is next to none and its kind flimsy material but for 40$ you can't complain much. You should just invest some more in your pants. I ended up purchasing some valken redemption pants they are defiantly worth the money padding excellent maneuverability is good comfort is good. I wear a pant size 34 and for both the fate and redemption I purchased medium the fates fit good for medium and the redemptions are a little big but I just tighten them around the belt loop that's on them and they're legit. So it's on preference what company you wanna rock and how much you wanna save on pants

for a budget of 40 you wont find pants with a good protection your best bet would be getting some thicker cargos maybe and some comfortable volleyball knee pads you do not see good padding till the 100 and up bracket besides for a few products here and there

What's considered breaking the bank?

Personally I'd rather pay $130 every few years and have pants w/ all the padding that last instead of paying 40-50 every year for pants that fall apart after use.

You could always look in the used section here, often times guys just want the newest and the pants aren't beat.

Pants is something I wouldn't go cheap on. But if you must, look at the b/s/t forum on here

Check out the used section. Many used pants on there available at a good price. Even the dye C8-11. Even if they are a few years old they are still built to good quality.
I still use a pair of c5s.

For those afraid of cooties, the cheap Valken pants actually seem to be their most durable option. The padded variety seem to have stitching issues.

Me personally, I'm having a hard time straying from buying DYE pants every few years, and only really update when they start to tear in the knee a bit. I play nearly every week on a variety of rough surfaces, for several years now.

Look for the previous year's pants for a good bargain. I got some new 2010 PE pants for $80 on eBay when the 2011s were going for $165. You may not be wearing the latest fashion, but they will work.

I got a pair of Planet Eclipse 2009 Distortion Pants for $100 on ANSgear. They are great, durable, great padding, and breathe great. They were originally $160. But I agree, do not get a pair of cheap pants. Other than being able to move better IMO jeans would be just as good. Try picking up a pair off of BST or try to find pants that are older models.
