Bad day with my axe. Help?

So yesterday i went to play at my local field with some guys from school. First few shots at the chrono were fine, then it blew up the paint in my feed neck. What the hell caused this? My pressure was at 180, dwell was stock, not sure about the back cap but it was shooting in the 280s. Secondly, went to clean the gun this morning and the trigger pulls wouldnt register. Figured out that the trigger activation switch had shifted, has this ever happened to anyone? any way to prevent? Thank you.

What hopper are you using? With what settings?
Maybe your hopper couldn't keep up to the bps you were shooting and it chopped, also what paint were you using?

could have been a cracked ball, then the bolt hit it. Is it a force feed loader? I have had cracked balls end up looking like a chop . If you have a cracked ball with force on it in the breech the next ball drop in a little and getting chopped.

I would tend to think it was the paint more then anything on the guns end.

I've had this happen. It was caused by under boring too much. It only happens when it's below 50 F for me. It happens with my rotor.

i was using a .684 eigenbarrel. between the freezing temperatures (probably at a high of 25 that day) playing with the barrel and paint, im guessing that was the problem

I personally never had good success with the Eigenbarrel. I know lots of folks that love them, but I tried undeboring, proper fit, and overboring and always had breakage issues. All types of paint, all types of conditions. Even just slow shooting for testing purposes often resulted in barrel breaks for me.

And it always baffles me why, when a marker breaks paint in the breech, the marker is always the first item to catch the heat.

I always troubleshoot issues like this in this order: paint-> barrel -> hopper -> marker

Put some blue lotcite on your activation set screw, set the activation point before the loctite dries, and left it dry before you mess with the trigger anymore. It shouldn't move after that unless you use a tool.

And you had a bad day just because you Axe broke one ball at the beginning of the day? It doesn't sound too bad to me...

will do loctite method. but no i spent nearly 2 hours cleaning and trying to change it, it broke many many many many balls. seriously turned my z2 into a blender. had to COMPLETELY dissasemble and clean by hand.

That sounds like more of a paint problem to me. Was everyone else using the exact same paint and having zero problem?

yeah it was the same paint and zero problems...I played around with it today and it was fine. I think my back cap had too much pressure, i adjusted it a little bit and it was shooting ropes this afternoon.

sounds like the paint was very brittle in 25 degree weather.
