Be Careful In B/s/t!! Scammers Are Out There!!
I dont know if this is the right section or not so if isn't, mod's please move it. So i just got scammed by a member who got banned 2 days too late (today). Monday, i bought a Hurricane's SL74 from DoubleTime. Paid $390 GIFTED (will never make that mistake again) and he assured me that he would send it out today. Didnt hear from him this morning with the tracking number so i tried to pm him about it.... BANNED... as of today for scamming. Obsviously im not the only one he scammed b/c i didnt report him. Well, you may think it was just a "lack of communication" Nope.. I emailed his paypal email. On paypal, his name is "Phillip Gonzales".. Sent him an email saying that if he just refunded my money, i wouldn't inform paypal or anything. His name on his email is "John Holmes" (like the crazy psycho from Aurora, CO shooitng) He replied to me asking what gun it was, i told him, and he asked for my paypal address, i told him, and he still refused.. Never denied scamming me, wouldn't give me his phone number to talk about it, and then asked if me if i was threatening him when i informed him that i would really make this hard on him if he didnt cooperate with me. He even had the stones to say "im not giving you that money back, you gave it to me as a gift." Basically playing games with me and being a smart ***.
Called paypal, told her the whole story on how he scammed multiple people and has been banned from this site for just that. Even though i gifted it, she said she would treat it as though i purchased goods just this one time. I got lucky with that. Either way, if he decides to be somewhat decent about this and sends me my money, or paypal seizes it (they already have, but they have possesion of the money) and refunds me in 10 days.
Folks, do NOT gift money to anyone unless you know them personally and are within driving distance from their house. Feedback doesn't always tell you everything. This douche has 100% feedback.. I checked before i sent him any money. My suggestion, is to get their phone number, speak with them on the phone before hand, ask for a pic of the gun with a piece of paper that has your name and the date on it or a video with them stating those facts BEFORE you send them a red cent. This gives paintball players and general humanity a bad name and they are out there folks. I guess this concludes my public service announcement.
If you got scammed by this dude, i feel for you. Thank goodness paypal has always treated me well in any dispute ive ever had.

Everything you said to do should be common sense from jump. I never gift fees unless I talk and feel comfortable with the person. Lets be real, you saved 3-4% of $390... Pay the fees, insure yourself!

Bahahahahahahahahahaha. People are still stupid enough to gift money? I wish Paypal had just told you to get stuffed. They make it pretty clear that gifting funds that are intended as payment is a violation of their TOS.

It seems like there is in fact a claim open (if I understand what the OP posted). If so he will get his money, unless there is other info he has not stated.

I'm not trying to be helpful. I'm making fun of a guy who was too cheap to pay a couple bucks in fees, and got screwed.

If you have reading comprehension then you would know he inst screwed.
Be kind on the new guy. We have all messed up on our first few outings in something somehow. Being a dick won't help him. If it was someone like me, well then you would have every right to tell me I'm stupid and had it coming.

Pfft. This thread is nothing but a scare tactic. Next you'll be telling me that my friend Prince Nbogo of Nigeria, a stand up chap who I'm helping funnel money out of Africa, isn't real either. When you have real life experience you don't need to check up on these things, you can just tell.

Wrong. PayPal IS going to pay me the money. They r treating this as though I paid the correct way. I got lucky.. like I mentioned before, I made a stupid mistake, obviously.
And tryfan, there is no agenda with this thread other than to remind people to be smarter than I was when buying goods on a forum.

a scare tactic? for scammers?
a scare tactic would be how my mechanic(who happens to work on the county sheriff's car) was screwed out of car's title by giving him a clean car's vin.
well. in the end the mechanic got a clean honda that didnt have the transmission issues as the one he was intending to buy.
this is a reminder, a rather good one, to NOT GIFT THROUGH PAYPAL.

No, it was funny. Just not worthy of a posting of "LOLZ!".

Umm, John Holmes has "shot" many people, but he is not from Aurora, CO. James Holmes is a completely different typr of shooting.

This wasn't a trade. Nobody ships first in a cash transaction, and if they do, then they need their head examined.
I don't care how much feedback you have, I'm getting my money before I ship anything.

A real lesson would of been taught if they didn't treat it as a normal transaction. They shouldn't of bent over backwards for you. You're the one that "gifted" it to save a few bucks.
