please help with air tank issue

I have a dye throttle air tank i believe its a 68/45. I had in bag for awhile. When i took it out it has a weird rattle at top of regulator. I believe it could be valve.
Is it worth tightening down valve and chancing ruining my marker? Or is it best to replace regulator on tank all together? Please help if anyone has had this problem or knows what i should do.
Thank you for your time and info.
