Battlestar Galactica
I was just scanning through Comcast On Demand and came across Battlestar Galactica. I remember loving the original series when I was a kid. Yes, I'm that old. And had recently decided I wanted to try watching the new series. But when looking through Comcast today, I see they have the original series from 78, the series reprieve from 80, the mini series and the new series.
They are only available through Feb 22nd. I don't have enough time to watch them all, so should I watch the original series and go through as far as I can, or should I skip the original series and start with the mini series?

I hated just about everything about this show. Camera made me feel sick, Mary McDonnel and James Callis were unbearable, and the story was like a space version of LOST.

Ignore what Mr. I-Hate-Everything up there says. Show is bad-****ing-***.
It starts to slow down in the 3rd season, but the last several episodes of season 4 pick things up nicely.
OG series should only be watched out of nostalgia factor, and the 80's one should just be ignored completely. The new one is the best, easily.

Loved the old when I was young. Was bought the box set a while back and watched it. After a few episodes you start to notice the stock footage being used over and over. Same smudge of the Viper window at launch. Same couple of kill shots over and over.
OLD= over it
NEW= great story and would love another spin off not "Capirca"

I'm now almost done with Season 2. I just have the finale left. I must say, I almost gave up on the show. The first season had too much going on in too many places with too many characters. But I decided to give it a little longer and around episode 4 or 5 of Season 2 it got much better. now I'm totally hooked.
Can't wait to get home tonight for the finale and try and knock out 4 or 5 episodes of Season 3.

In my opinion, season 3 is where it started to stagger a bit, but in retrospect I understand the importance of its place within the entire story. I'm in the process of re-watching the entire series and I'm still entertained.
Easily my favorite series to ever hit television. |

Just finished the series. 2 was by far the best. 3 dragged on. 1 and 4 were good. But the last few episodes of 4 were great. About halfway through 3 I just wanted to get it over with. I almost gave up too, but figured I had already invested so much time.
It all makes sense now though.
I've still got 10 days left before Comcast deletes the origianals. I think I'll watch a handful of those now.

I shut off the original like a minute in, when the guy was still blabbering on to the view of the star field.
/yawn.
also, now that you've finished the series, go watch "The Plan" movie that they did.
revisits the show from start to "end" from the view point of the Cylons. answers a bunch of questions.

Own em all. Love the series. Caprica was disappointing. I'm still hoping for Blood and Chrome to become a full time series.
