ok well then i guess im just making up stories on pbnation to **** with people trying to tune their DM's.... im sorry if you don't believe me, but it happened again today to my new dm13 and my teammates dm13. i tune to try and get lowest lpr setting, and a few games in, both of our guns started shooting slow bps. not 10 bps like the eyes are dirty, and not a full 12. all i did to fix it was up the lpr 1/8 of a turn. once again im sorry if you don't believe me, but i dont really care what someone on the internet thinks of me.

Like I said your alls bolts might not have been returning correctly at the last few millimeters a where the valve part of the bolt tapers and gets larger on the return and it was really slow at that point and thus not letting paint in the gun fast enough.

For tanks get a ninja SLP or SMP they are good

ok well either way my gun was shooting slow which was what i was trying to say in the first place.

I wouldn't go with an SLP reg, you might get shoot down. other than that, DM's are not picky with tanks. any tank from 400-800 psi output will work perfectly.

I agree with him, Don't go the LPR route, it will give you issues later on when trying to tune,

good pressure for ANY dm is 400-650

Ninja SMp regs or adjustable reg would be the best tank reg to use. im currently using the adjustable moded down to 550 which Ive found got a tighter grouping over the chrono. My last event which was a 8hr scenario it was like 40degrees and I was plus or minus 2 the whole day. And Im running my lpr at 2.5 probably close to 3 turns and stock dwell as well as using a .684 boomstick.

If the LPR is set too low the bolt will not be able to cycle as quickly, thus a lower BPS. An increased dwell may help.

its true. i raised my lpr another 1/2-1 full turn and it shoots the right bps now. maybe bps is not the right term to use, but the rate of fire was slowed down because the lpr was too low, so whatever the lpr is set at it wont affect the bps because thats set by the board, its just the ROF couldnt keep up so it shot at a low bps. hope that made sense

and i also noticed like the op said that theres more shims than what the manual has(i have 2 more shims than the manual), so around 1 turn in the lpr the bolt is already sucked in.

With the lower pressure it takes a longer time (still talking milliseconds here) for the bolt to cycle. Unless you up the volume (read, increase the dwell) the gun can cycle slower, have inconsistent chrono readings, and be a bummer to play with. This is why when people tune their DMs there is normally a slight increase in dwell time as well. This helps provide a larger amount of air just at the lower pressure.

For questions see 'Boyle's Law'

DM12/BW. Thanks.
Am I mistaken or isn't ABS just more dwell time? 10ms seems like a lot of ABS.

abs is added dwell time to the first shot. im not sure what the stock MS increase is, but i have an aftermarket board and i set mine to 5 ms and that seems to work fine.
