Great way to make the pro division even more competitive. A huge contrast to the NPPL giving out pro spots to unproven teams just because they can pay entry.

Any speculation as far as what D1 teams will be challengers?

Teams can win their way onto the top pro field, take their licks, go back to work out things on the Challenger field, and then make another run at it when they qualify next.

I also hope it reinvigorates teams wanting to climb the classification ladder as the move from D1 to pro is not such a cliff anymore.

I am really excited about this. If it works out half as well as intended, it'll be good.

Saturday games now matter. The 4th event is HUGE!! Exposure for some of the up and coming teams is incredible. Fans have reasons to watch EVERY game on the schedule. On and on.

Oh, ok. I was mistaken then. I just remember teams bumping up, but never thought to think of teams being removed. I was thinking of the times when aftermath were semi pro and vicious, i thought they had a chance to buy into the pro division from winning the series in semi pro. I was mistaken.

VICIOUS won semi-pro the year they had it, then moved up to Pro the following season.

I have to admit, I think this is a great idea. Good job buddy. I am impressed. This is a bold move that can literally have some of the best players in the world relegated for an event if they don't perform. And I love that this gives up and coming teams a shot at the title without forcing them to "turn pro" and get stomped event after event.

I'm not sure how I feel about this concept.

What's stopping Pros from throwing games to get put into Semi-Pro in order to have a shot at winning an event?

I think it'll be fun to watch teams who move up from the Challenger's Division into the Champion Division since teams won't know what to expect since they haven't played and built sound scouting reports. I think there may be some big upsets.

So will they lock rosters so teams can't jump ship off a team that gets relegated?

I know for sure there is not one single Pro team that thinks that way. You don't want to be down to Semi-Pro, Semi Pro doesn't count in the eyes of a Pro!

You under-estimate the power of greed. When teams are struggling to cover the costs from event to event, I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that happen. I mean really, do CEP or Aftershock think they have a better chance at a win/check in the Pro or SP division?

I see what you're saying, but I am just curious to see how it plays out.

so 10 teams in the champions division, off hand anyone know the average number of pro-teams signing up for each event last year? That would let you know if they are going to pull some D1 teams up into the "semi-pro" dvision to fill it out.

Or they could run like 10 teams in champions and 8 teams in semi if they wanted/needed to. Curious, either way I really really like this idea and it will make the telecasts even more fun to watch.

Whats the plan for series standing? Where are these other teams going to come from to fill out the challengers division?

Hadn't thought of that. It makes sense to lock the rosters of those in Challengers but not in Champions itself.

This is legit. Definitely a game changer for those teams looking to claw their way up into the pro brackets.

also the only issue I can see with this is if a team wins the first few events, than has a bad weekend and is in the bottom two the last regular season event then they get bumped down to semi-pro for cup even though they won the majority of pro events that season?
