Let the sponsors work out the terminology or create a lower level "semi-pro" sponsorship program if they have to. That's all on them. If I'm a sponsor, I'm paying based on performance and marketability anyway, not just a division name.
My 5 step plan, repeated each year....
-Create a semi-pro division and open it to all that's willing to pay.
-Only allow 10 total teams in the pro-division.
-Top 8 from pro the previous year get to stay pro, all the rest get dropped to semi-pro.
-Top 4 from D1 get promoted to semi-pro, top 2 from semi-pro get promoted to pro.
-Only rank a player as pro if they finish top 8 twice in the season.

The overall idea sounds interesting but it seems like it's just another gimmick. In the long run this will probably grind out teams on the edge.

jump to conclusions much? I',\m sure after reading the brief OP and then the tons of replies newcomers would be confused.
An official rule that explains the system would be better to read and understand. I guarantee Matty can explain it perfectly clear during the webcasts.

It would be nuts if either league released info early, with answers to multiple questions. Instead everyone gets to give opinions that will not change anything, and everyone gets to question what they are doing for the season with only a month or so to figure it.
Keep it up. Really helps the players

This really isn't difficult to understand at all, and has probably been explained in depth to the people it will affect.

Obviously it hasn't been explained thoroughly to the people it will affect. There are Pros posting in this thread saying how they didn't even know what was going on, let alone all of the D1 teams.
Just because you understand doesn't mean everyone else does.

So what don't you guys understand?
I have some minor unanswered questions too, but nothing that will get in my way of enjoying the new way the pro division has been organized. In fact, I'm very much looking forward to it.

Not sure what is so difficult to understand? Since you're D3, this probably won't affect you to begin with...

What's so difficult to understand?
1. Dallas will be played with prelims through finals just like they were last season.
2. After Dallas, the top 10 pro teams (based on points from the Dallas event) will advance to the Champions bracket.
3. The remaining (probably 4) teams will move to the challengers/"semi-pro" bracket along with a list of other teams, likely D1 or teams of older players with too many points to play any division other than Pro.
4. The next event will be played. 9th and 10th in the Champions division will be demoted to the Challengers division. 1st and 2nd in the Challengers division will be promoted to the Champions division.
I'm not sure it can be explained as fully as they have, any easier than what I wrote or was in the OP.

... How much do you lift? If it's not hard to understand, why is this thread going on 20 pages of unanswered questions. Good comeback though, whats next? Your going to make fun of cep for being pro?

Clearly your head isn't on straight. That wasn't a slight towards you or anyone else. I was, quite literally, explaining what the PSP is doing/has done.
On a side note, I supported CEP going pro and I still do. They're taking their welts and wearing them like big boys. Sure, they'll likely end up in the Challengers division, however I'll bet they get to rotate back into the Champions bracket at some point this season with a huge morale boost.
I was trying to clarify things. Since you decided to read something out of my post that wasn't there and then proceed not to ask a related question. Curiously though, have you read all 20+ pages? My guess is no. I'm also guessing you didn't read the OP and rather read the last two-three pages of comments instead.

Upcoming D1
This is really sweet now finally D1 teams can fight their way into the pro division and it really gives them the opportunity to become the next top teams this is pretty sick
