Is it worth it to you?

I feel like I'm always scrounging for money, not buying food, or new clothes so I can pay for paint, fields fees and new gear. Is paintball worth all of the time and money to you?

Yes it is worth it.

But I also have a good job, for Kentucky at least.

But really your post is funny to me. I mean if your starving and wearing old clothes that are falling apart its one thing.

But my guess is playing paintball means your not going out and overspending to eat at restaurants instead of cooking for yourself or that your not wearing the new overpriced pants then yes paintball is worth it. And you also added new gear something else people tend to overvalue.

For me, yes, but I can honestly say I've never been in a situation of choosing food or paint. The worst it's ever been for me is not spending on some *other* hobby/recreation so that I can buy paint.

I give myself $200 every pay to play with. Rest goes to mortgage, savings, bills, insurance, cat, wife, and kid.

Paintball costs $40 to $100 to play. Is not cheap. However its a good rush that I don't get grocery shipping or golfing.

True. Although I'm not really starving, but what I'm trying to say is, it's stressful financially.

Yep worth it. Nothing like paintball. I have sold stuff just to have the cash to play, and volunteered at my fields haunted house for comps.

If it wasn't worth it, I wouldn't be playing. I don't really go that much either, so when I get the 'itch' to play, it feels much better.

Yes its worth it. If your field has a season pass you could save for that since that kills the 30 dollars admission every saturday and sunday. I spend 80 for 2 cases but what I don't use I bring next time.

I used to be obsessed with paintball. But after a few years, the obsessions has leveled off to a more reasonable level. I still like it, but not thinking about it every waking minute like before.

I think it's worth it. It's a way to get out and just relax and have fun. So between food(restaurant style) and paintball I would go with paintball, but if I can't afford food, then my money is going towards keeping me alive. Paintball is a blast and just a hobby for me.

Paintball is worth it to me. I play weekly and have a full time job. I am able to balance my paintball budget and the bills with no issues. Its a passion I will never quit.

Paintballs definitely worth it. If it wasn't, it would have died out long ago. It's an adrenaline rush you can't get any other way. I put about 45% of my income into paintball and 90% of my gift money.

It's worth it ......or we wouldn't be here. I personally have stopped going to bars and clubs as frequently as I used to so I can go and play. Some people call me crazy. If they loved to play as much as some of us do, they'd understand. A night of partying is OK once in awhile but I'd rather be running through the woods and seeing my paintball brothers and sisters on Sundays. We hardly or rarely speak to one another during the week but on Sundays. We're all one big happy family. I love to play with them just as much as I love to play against them. It's all good. I'm out running, yelling, crawling, sliding and jumping. When people used to say your going to drive all the way to NJ to play with a bunch of people you don't know. You're crazy. I would tell them that they love to play as much as I do. So that's all I need to know. Remember people mock what they don't understand .

I go every weekend and manage to only spend about $500 a year. I Do this by not playing speed ball tourneys and not wasting paint on bad shots. Also I own all the equipment I'll ever need. So once you've acquired a nice gun and don't feel the need to constantly upgrade (or more likely move laterally) then you can play pretty cheap if your conservative. Granted it depends on how far you live from a feild? And if said feild have reasonable prices.

It's worth it to me now but the closer college gets the more I think about selling my things until afterwards when I have my degree and a job.

It must be, because I keep choosing to do it instead of any alternative activities.

See the thing is once you get past the initial cost of buying gear, all you really have to pay for his gas, admission, and paint. For me as a rec player I mostly play woodsball where I dont have to shoot as much as speedballers and don't need to keep upgrading constantly. Just buy some cheap gear and play. And at used prices buying gear is not that bad at all. An enmey, cheap *** halo, mask, and an aluminum tank and your good to go for under 300.

You don't NEED to go every weekend. Once every two weeks or once a month? sounds pretty reasonable. Just money manage well.
