Macdev reliabilty

Hey so I just picked up a GT a while back and I really like it. It shoots nice and is much easier to maintain then I thought. I liked it enough that I decided to go out and buy another macdev marker, which led me to the clone.

I didn't want to buy a true VX because they are still fairly expensive so I found a V2 with all the upgrades for 450. I am just curious though, what is the reliability like on this marker?

It is a bit older then the GT but does it have any issues with bolt stick or are these markers pretty resilient?

The V2's are plenty reliable. Of course a lot is going to come down to how well it was taken care of by the prior owner.

When you say "all the upgrades" I assume you mean it's been VX'd with the VX drive/detents and has the gold bolt.

Other than routine maintenance there is nothing about this version of the Clone that would put it in the unreliable category.

If you have any specific questions about it feel free to post them up!

I would recommend picking up some of the newest Militia Lube if you don't have any already as it's spectacular http://www.aggressivesports.net/inde...&product_id=84

I maintain my markers and never had a single issue from my VX'd clone.

hey sameagol dont get me wrong but maybe if you are looking to spend 450 for a used marker you should check out the drone DX, now it comes with the same GT solenoid, and an update of the firmware board and is selling for 421 so you get a really nice gun but BNIB.
i am not saying the clone v2 is unrealiable but for the amount of money the drone also shoulb be a good option

Yeah the Drone is good if you want a new gun however a VX'd Clone is much nicer. I will recommend however that you pick up some Viton orings for the valve. Normal buna's will last fine if you are good with doing maintenance however if you want it to be truly bullet proof Viton orings will get you there especially the valve as I believe they are 1x17 mm orings which is a fairly thin oring.

Agreed on the Viton o-rings in the valve. 2 of them are 17x1 and 1 is 15x1. I run viton on all 3 in my VX and they have zero signs of wear after quite a few cases through it.

i use a true vx and a cyborg rx. i cant justify owning any other markers at this point. besides a gt . super reliable. still zero issues. i maintain my stuff after every day of play too

Got a problem with your gun? It's probably an o-ring or lube issue
