How is Pump play compared to Semi?
I've played semi auto for 4 years and pump has always held my interests and fascinate me. I've never played pump in my life and look to get started.

Get at it. Plenty of pump guys around SC Village if you don't want to buy one to start out with.

Pump vs. Semi. What an interesting question.
I'll tell you one thing, the tactics when you're playing pump are a lot different. I've been playing pump about two years, so I don't know even close to everything about playing pump, but I do know enough to stay alive. Mainly, you'll be moving a lot more and shooting a lot less. This makes sense, since you can't shoot as quickly (accurately, at least) as a semi, and so you'll be more careful about your shots. You'll get to be a master at snap shooting and you'll learn to conserve paint. I've been playing pump almost without interruption for two years and I find it hard to play semi the way I was! Get out there and play!

It becomes more of a "Thinking Mans' Game".
You don't have the ability to put out a lot of paint.
So you have to think about getting in close enough to make the one shot count, think about finding the angles, think about staying out of view while you move...
It's more like playing a game of chess rather than a video game.

Because putting one well place snap shot on someone's goggles is a hell of a lot more satisfying than 15.

It's time to start playing pump when you are sick of playing semi.

Most fun I ever had was playing pump tournaments, from NPPL to Local Circuits. One thing that sticks out to me about Pump paintball, is the fantastic people you meet.

While pump feels a lot different, in the end to be most effective at both styles, the way you play is actually very similar.
