Wookie, they actually don't do anything at all.
Just a pocket to collect debris in.

i wonder if putting orings in the ridges would help with anything. i guess the difficult part would be getting the right size.

adding orings would probably be more of a side effect and would still pose the same "problem" that techt is seeing.
Im honestly not buying it until techt posts a real reason for this. the dp bolt moves back and forth just fine. I can think of a few reasons why it wouldnt work but techt has made some nice stuff in the past and im not seeing whats stopping them from figuring it out. I mean, they are not obligated to figure it out by any means, they have always been great to the DP community.

I had previously owned a G3 and G4, but may be picking up a G5 a few weeks, but this thread opens up a can of worms for me. Everytime a new DP G get released, TechT has a fix for it??????Conspiracy?
Is the G5 not at this point refined enough not to need a TechT upgrades? Or did DP mess up again so TechT can make $$$ on us again?

I think the G5 prolly just has not sold enough to justify it for them. Due to some of the perceived problems with the G4, people are prolly sketchy on it.

I am sold on the macroline-less design and new milling. The bolt also looks different. Just hope that this version does not suffer any bolt stick and money maker TechT comes to the rescue..
My G3 had made bolt stick so I let another G3 owner try to lube it. Does not matter how little or how much lube he used, it sticks. The G4 had the odd stick which is a total turn off when I depended on it the most. The FX never sticks, guess because poppets are bulletproof.
Really want a G5, so I am going to hold off to see the reviews. Any reports of a single bolt stick in the G5, then I will pass.

Joe, they have had my marker and another for 3 Weeks, you really think they didn't exhaust their options before this decision was made? As said before, the only way they could really do anything is with a can insert and extra parts plus it quills make the bolt tip smaller. Causing a price tag of roughly 130,

I've put over a case thru my g5 through out the last month with zero bolt stick. Haven't touched any settings yet but cleaned and relubed a couple times. So far so good. I don't think anyone is having bolt stick issues.

Excellent feedback. I want good news. Is there the right amount of lube needed like the G3/G4 or I can just lube it up and good to go?
So TechT won't be need?

It doesn't seem to be picky on the amount of lube. I lube it real quick and put it away. Fires no problem the next time I rip it.

i agree with above. The only problem I had out of mine right out of the box was ball breakage, but my velocity was bumping near 300, tune it down to 280-ish and its butter smooth. NO BOLT STICK, decent efficiency (about the same, maybe a lil better than my AXE). So far, I am pleased with this marker. Granted, I still prefer my FX. =)
My only question is might DP be able to offer a "pillow-type" bolt for it for use with the high end paints? That's where I've had most trouble.

The current L7 design wont work, but a slightly different design would. If any of you have seen my thread ( http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3816088) then you already know that the HE bolt is a direct spin off from my thread. This isn't the first mod that Techt has "borrowed" from me. I told them to shorten the bolt face to resolve the breach jam issues. Anyway, about a year ago I suggested to Tim/Todd a better way to do the L7 bolt. Perhaps with the G5 and those stupid grooves they will finally implement my suggestion. Another way to "fix" the grooves is to hide them. Stainless steel can be made very thin and yet still remain resilient and long lasting. An insert that goes inside the back of the bolt area and stops at the rear breach would do the trick. The bolt sail o-ring would need to be 016 rather than 017 to make the smaller diameter work. The stop block would need an outer o-ring so it can seal against the stainless insert. With those 3 changes the current HE bolt would work. I could do this mod to a Techt G4 bolt if I had a metal lathe.

I try to get you guys the most up to date info on stuff like this when I can. Some of you know the position i'm in with several companies and am unable to comment on certain subjects.
This I assure you is no hoax. TechT had treated me very well in the relationship I have with them and I promote their products I use with my personal opinion and only that, i'm not in the back pocket receiving kickbacks like some think, I don't work for them either.
Unless you can get at least 200 plus people prepaid for an engine of a price roughly 130, then there isn't one.

The L7's sail o-ring seals against that section that now has the ridges. Unless TechT can make a sleeve or use a new bolt design, there's not much they can do, so I believe the OP.

Oh Excuse me, but I dont think i got the idea from you when i shaved off the bolt tail on my Techt bolt and first posted a video of it working on your thread, Justicexd first posted the numbers on a different thread and I tried it right away and I Pmd Shru on my results almost a week before you posted your thread. It is only after you saw my video post that you finally decided to mod your Techt bolt.
Please get your facts straight.

yes, you told them to shorten the bolt face to resolve the jam issues but it wasn't the length of the bolt that's the problem, its how the bolt stop is situated on the 2nd breech o-ring that is the problem.
