Question Dm6 issue

I recently bought a Dm6 here on the nation and when it arrived had a small leak down the barrel and in the grip frame. I promptly ordered an o ring kit and changed every o ring except the front internal bolt o ring and the internal top hats. I had read that those should be ur-70 o rings and not just the regular gauge. I called dye and ordered a few of them. They arrived tonight and the two larger internal rings fit perfectly. But the smaller internal top hat o ring seemed a tad small.. I compared it to the size chart and it was in fact a #13. Being that the groove still held it in place, I figured once the bolt is in it should hold itself in. Aired it up, no issues, popped off a few dry fire shots and bam. Gun just started dumping air. I took the bolt out again to find the smaller top hat o ring had been pinched between the top hat and bolt. Revealing it was in fact too small. Am I missing something? Seems like there should not be an issue if it is in fact the right size. Any ideas?

I think the small leak in the grip frame could be the solenoid gasket. Waiting for the one I ordered to get here before I even attempt.

If it helps
LPr at 3 turns out
Dwell at 19
Stock board
Top hat mod

Thanks in advance. And I did search but came up empty, so if there is a thread on this I apologize.

Use the correct size o-ring for the top hat. The bolt stem is tapered, and when the bolt moves forward the stem passes through that o-ring and seal breaks which allows air to flow through the bolt to the ball. If that o-ring is an incorrect size, is damaged or the chamber pressure is too high it will blow off and cause a big barrel leak.

A frame leak could be from the bolt sail, the rear external can o-ring, the external tophat o-ring, the front mount on/off or one of the LPR o-rings, in addition to the solenoid gasket, solenoid spool or air channel plugs. If you can't pinpoint the leak, I would check them pretty much in the order I just listed them as that is it follows the most likely causes/simplest order to troubleshoot.

Edit: Those o-rings also do not need to be urethane, the original ones were but it doesn't matter in this case.

This why I love the Nation. Thank you very much. I will refer to this when I get back from the field tomorrow with some air. Preciate it.

Ok I put a regular o ring in the top had and seemed to work just fine. I pinpointed the leak in the frame to the screw under the LPr directly behind the frame screw hole. I replaced every o ring on the LPr and lubed it up to no avail. I put some Teflon tape on the LPr set screw and the leak seemed to stop completely. Is this ok? It will not cause more air to seep into anywhere it shouldn't be right?

yea the screw in the lpr needs either teflon or loctite to properly seal the threads. i had the same issue when i first got my dm6.

There are 3 screw holes there, 1 for the rear frame screw, 1 is an LPR retaining screw, and 1 is an air channel plug. The plug needs loctite or teflon tape to seal, and once it's installed never needs to be removed for maintenance.
