Scion F-RS????
I am looking into buying a new car and I'm thinking about the f-RS. So I was hoping I could hear some feedback and opinions from an owner or at least someone who has rode around in one. Or if you just know a lot about it.

If you're gonna try to buy one you should probably know the name.
Enjoy your underpowered overpriced miata

Sorry I got the dash wrong. So is their any reason you absolutely hate this reasonably priced vehicle? Like I said I'd like to hear feedback and opinions.

I don't absolutely hate it, and it's not reasonably priced.
It caters to a very specific niche, and I don't belong to it, because I'm not going to spend money for a car that's very good at one thing and not good at anything else.

Well I'm a big fan of the lancer evo. But 10k less for a 4 cylinder 200 hp engine that's good on gas and no one really has them right now. It seemed like a good buy. But that's why I'm asking

I think it's right at 200bhp.
It drives nice. But it's slow as ****. The Civic Si, being a car I drove immediately before the FRS, felt faster and a more comfortable ride and the 4 door is more practical. It's nice and handles like a God but I wouldn't recommend it over other cars in the price range, like the Civic Si, WRX, Mazdaspeed3 and Volkswagen GTI.

It's 200hp.
But that doesn't help the following downsides:
- It's still slow
- It's not particularly good looking, IMO
- Not super easy/cheap to repair if something breaks since it's a new car that doesn't have a predecessor
- The aftermarket isn't huge for it yet since it's new
- It handles well, but honestly how often do you find yourself going balls out around corners? I hope you're not doing it on the street, for your sake as well as those around you
- It doesn't have many features, you're pretty much paying for the chassis and meh motor
- $25k for a car that has boyracer written all over it, and doesn't make power...?
- $25k, if spent on something slightly used, could get you way more car. Hell, a new WRX isn't much more than a BRZ/FR-S. And that's much more practical. If you get a leftover, or one that's lightly used, it could be around the same price.
- It doesn't make much torque, you're pretty much gonna be in economy car power territory if you're not revving the **** out of it
Now obviously there's preference here. I personally don't like them because I think, every time I got in it, I would wish it had more power. If you like it, more power to you. But it doesn't seem like a super practical choice for many people.

A turbo FR-S/BRZ would be cool. Until then, yawn.

Buy an rx-8 for a fraction of the money and get a better handling car. The R3 Rx-8's with the nice recaros and better styling can be had with low miles for 17k.

frs starts at 25, miata with no hardtop is 23,750, so not really overpriced but ya i would rather have a wrx or a new miata. And when they make a turbo brz it will probably be around 30K

If you're going into a specific class of racing it might be worth it to get it, I'd rather spend less money and enjoy my 4 cars and motorcycle.

Been in a BRZ
Seems pretty solid and well built
Has no balls, but flings well
Would rather get a WRX for the same money, more space, power, doors, and better looking IMO

In response to this, MSRP on the WRX is right around 25k, just like the FRS. Same thing with the Focus ST, Mazdaspeed 3, and the VW GTI. The Civic Si, which in my opinion is a better car stock for stock, is even cheaper for a base model.
The aftermarket is there right now, but it's expensive. It'll get better in time. Also expect the TRD/STi versions to be around 35k.

I don't like them, but I'd take them over 80% of the other cars suggested in this thread.
