I saw this done in a thread a while back & had a few moments to spare this evening aside from the wrap's and wanted to add some foam to the top section of the case for barrels. I personally cant stand having case after case after case in my gear bag, I'd rather have everything in 1 spot to keep it stupid simple and clean.
The foam is 1" thick and was ordered from
kayakoutfitting.com
Type: Closed Cell Foam
As for what was used to cut the foam I simply used an exacto knife "dull blade/dope! waiting on my new shipment for more wrap jobs" to carve the path followed by a standard long blade knife to cut the entire way through the foam. For the backing I just applied a carbon fiber vynl to the case itself so when a barrel or insert is removed there's a tad of eye candy.
Now I did NOT spend alot of time cutting the foam so the cuts are by no means super clean, I just had a few minutes to spare this evening and wanted to knock it out. One less case in my gear bag this season makes me a happy camper. Eventually perhaps this weekend I will clean up the cuts and shave it out a bit to make her look crisp and clean.
Anywho some quick pic's.
Sorry, my Luxe is in a million pieces and at a few different areas for some custom treatment so i put in there what I had available
