Any Big Recball events?

Anyone know of any good Recball events coming up? I saw the 2 day Wild West event down in Lakeside on June 8-9 and made me wonder if any other events are coming up.

The Wild West game is actually a scenario with missions and roleplaying.

There are 2 other scenarios:
Tet Offensive at SC Village on June 28-30
And the Decay of Nations event (no official name) at SC Village on September 27-29

There are are a few one day events like Union Day as noted in the prior post.

I actually try to collect all the dates for scenario games for the year as best as I could and list them on other paintball forums.

Hmmm how to describe a 2 day ...

The scenarios that Giant and WCSP put on pretty much play all day Saturday, with a break for dinner then night game and game play is back on Sunday.

You're looking at a continuous stretch of play time, not unlike walk-on where game play is 15 minutes or so.

With big games and scenarios, once you're shot, you can get back in, you just have to know what those rules are.

Each side has a "General" and maybe Second in Command or XO's. They get missions from whoever is running the event and for each side to get points, they have to complete those missions. Points are accumulated over the weekend and after final tally, whoever has the most points, wins! Some example missions are: escort VIP, take and hold spot for XX minutes, destroy enemy CP and so on. The leadership looks for players that want to complete missions and send them off.

The majority of players are out there to shoot and gain ground There are players that do want to complete missions because it is something out of the norm.

Also at times there maybe roleplaying. The General has to meet with an "Arms Dealer" to buy tactical airstrikes as an example.

Off the field, you can stay as early as Friday night, camp out, meet other players new and experienced and see all the teams that come out to play.

All teams are pretty much recruiting and if you're interested in joining, an event like this is a good time to see them in person and get to see if you are a good fit with them or they are a team that you are looking for. The majority of scenario players here are very helpful and will answer any questions.

At the end of the weekend, the Generals give out awards like Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Team, Sportsmanship Award and so on. And finally they have a raffle lol.

I'm certainly going to be doing some of these scenarios this year. The role-playing/missions sounds pretty fun, would be a blast to get some coordinated strike teams in there.

And shoot moregore, you want to paintball or drink? haha I'm sure there are ways to exercise your God given right to imbibe, whether it be on or off the premises. Hell, I'll join you, but I won't be missing that night session

If the event is a Giant produced game like Tet or whatever Decay will be this year, they try to incorporate roleplaying. I know that for Decay last year, they tried to add in role players with limited success. However, they do have plenty of missions to go around, you just have to meet with your commanders and join up with or lead a mission to get your side points.

If you are more interested in the roleplaying aspect, you might want to check out WCPS, the producers are "separate" from Giant and I'm sure that they will have roles and such. Contact them on their website for more info: www.westcoastscenarioproductions.com

Yes.

You do not have to play the night game nor camp out overnight. I know players that play all day Saturday, go home after day play then come back the next day. I personally camp overnight, but don't play the night game, not my thing anymore.
