UL back question
My buddy wants to get rid of one of his UL Backs and is offering me either one for $15. He won't sell me both since he will obviously need a barrel for his shocker (also the gun I am buying the barrel back for).
I have the option to choose either:
1. UL Stainless steel in .686 (silver)
2. UL in .688 (those stock matte black ones)
Which would be best? Is there any advantage to either one?
I usually shoot smaller paint, so I would assume the SS back would be best
I already own an AC UL that came with my NT11, so I'm just going to use the tip for both.
It'll be used on an NXT, if that makes a difference.

I feel like the .686 is an older model barrel, I want to say its heavier. You'll be fine with either, .002 size difference will be nominal.

Very true. I believe it is heavier (If I'm not mistaken, newer UL's are made of aluminum). If you had to choose one, which would it be? I think I'm going to go with the .688
Edit:
Just watched this video...I'm pretty sure SS does still scratch though

I've been using ul barrel for years, the .688 is a great go to, that's what I'd go with, especially for $15.

Some people swear by the older SS backs for the boomsticks to be honest. If weight is really going to bother you then get the UL. If not I would probably go for the SS back myself. Especially if you already have a barrel at, or slightly above the .688. Namely like a .689-.691.

Thanks Tabris. Weight isn't that big of a deal, as I mentioned to IBleed, the only reason I was considering the SS was due to the color scheme and possibly the bore (the former doesn't really bother me and the latter wouldn't make that much of a difference I suppose).
I do already have a stock AA (.693 if I'm not mistaken) along with a Freak back that should be coming in soon (current inserts should cover most bores).
I'm honestly just buying the UL because at $15, it's pretty cheap

Thanks iBleed. To be honest, the main reason I was considering the SS is because I have a black on silver scheme on the Shocker. However, color schemes have never been something that I take seriously. I think I'll stick with the UL.

With you color scheme in mind, I say get the UL and have it freaked. You'll only be into it for $50, and it looks better than the Freak barrels, IMHO. Plus, it will potentially be worth more on resale than the freak backs, as there aren't near as many Freaked UL backs floating around.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, it's an Ion/Imp back which usually don't go for much here on PBN. Beyond that, the shocker is a backup to my backup, so I doubt the barrel will see much action anyways. I was going to do that with my AC UL, but the guy who does them never pmed me back :/
