So I used to run fully upped Ion's back when it was smart parts, and was wondering if there is any additional reliability to the newer GOG guns? Particularly the ones with eyes and clamping feedneck "extacy" I think its called. I wanted to get one for one of my kids after they run a mechanical or pump for a year (to build their accuracy first) Just wanted some input from current owners. I never had any major issues with my Ions back in the day but they had like 300 worth of upgrades too.

In my opinion the eXTCy is what the ion should have been when it was first produced. The clamping feedneck, on/off asa, and blackheart board, with the price of $250 ensure that there is nothing that you have to upgrade to make your marker usable (ie: old ion feed necks, crappy board and asa). They even made the on/off button much easier to use. I have upped mine over a couple of months, but it shoots great stock.

I have been using mine for over a year and still love it. I use my eXTCy as much as I use my ego or axe because it is such a good shooter. GOG made the eXTCy what the ion should have been, and put it within the price range so anyone can afford it. With all of this said, I have had great experiences with GOG's customer support as well. You can't go wrong with this marker as a beginner pneumatic. I still use mine all the time.

Plus it's a bolt out the back design. Priceless in my book.

^^I forgot about this, which is one of the best parts of the marker You can actually take apart the gun and lube the bolt with ease.

Great, inexpensive electro. I started my little guy out with an ion. He played with that for two years. He now shoots the extcy. Well worth the money(and easier to clean/lube).
